Monday classes flew by and you were buzzing with excitement to watch Sakusa's match. Though it was only a practice match it was still exciting to see. You watched from the bleachers, as close as you could so you could take mental notes on how everyone played.
The opposing team came through the door, sporting red tracksuits. The people who caught your attention the most were two identical boys, one with grey hair and the other with yellow. The yellow haired guy had a cocky smirk on his face when he walked in, the other was straight faced as if his mind was elsewhere. The yellow haired guy saw Sakusa and ran up to him only to get spayed by Lysol in the face. You giggled at Sakusa's defence mechanism. Sadly, this meant the boy noticed you and approached the bleachers.
"It's not very nice to laugh at other people you know" he said, smiling down at you. You shrugged. "Maybe, but that was funny".
He grinned. "I'm Miya Atsumu. You can just call me Atsumu though so you don't get me mixed up with my brother".
"Y/n l/n" you replied. "Call me whatever". "Okay y/n-chan then. Tell me, do you have a boyfriend?" He leaned onto the railings casually. This made you almost laugh. 'This guys definitely well versed in flirting'.
Suddenly Sakusa appeared behind Atsumu dragging him away from you by the collar. "Leave her alone" he hissed as soon as you were out of earshot. Atsumu smirked. "Why? Is she your girlfriend?"
Sakusa was silent. "Yeah thought so." Atsumu said.
"I'm warning you. Don't try anything with her" Sakusa said.
"Let's do it like this. If your team wins I'll leave her alone this time, if I win I'll do what I want".
Sakusa was quiet for a moment. "Fine".
You watched the two in a distance. 'I wonder what they're talking about' you thought.
The teams got changed into uniform and chose their starting lineup.
You noticed that the twins were on the starting lineup of Inarizaki along with a green eyed guy who looked tired, a tall foreign guy, a guy who looked older than everyone else and another grey haired guy. They were all pretty tall and well built but you had faith in Itachiyama's lineup.
The watch started with Sakusa serving. He concentrated on the ball, throwing it up with a spin before jumping and smashing it over the net. It hit the ground with such force nobody even had any time to register it. Your eyes lit up in excitement. "A no touch ace at the start of the game" you gasped. You wanted to cheer him on but you knew by experience that cheering can really affect concentration.
Sakusa glanced over to the bleachers where you watching. You gave him a thumbs up and a huge smile. He gave a small smile back before giving his full concentration to the game. He wasn't gonna lose, he refused to.
Sakusa got ready to serve the ball again, throwing it up with a slight spin and jumping. He smashed it over the net once again, the ball landing in the opposite court again. He was doing amazingly but something was wrong. There's no way he could keep this up the whole game, he was using too much stamina at the start. 'That Atsumu guy must've really provoked him' you thought as the match progressed.
The third time Sakusa served the ball was received and it went back and forward, each team scoring point after point though itachiyama was always slightly ahead. Itachiyama took the first set with a score of 25-22
Your brows furrowed. Would they be able to take the second set too? You weren't sure. Sakusa had started to look tired, sweat dripping down his face though Atsumu looked about the same. They were both playing way too hard considering it was just a practice match.
The second set went into the 30s and it was anyone's guess what was gonna happen. Inarizaki was currently in the lead and Atsumu set the ball to his twin, him spiking it down only for it to be received by Komori and dumped by the captain, Tsukasa.
It was Sakusa's turn to serve and he did so, aiming it at the edge of the court. It got received and sent back over. The tension was so high and you almost felt time slow down when Sakusa jumped up and slammed the ball down into the opposing court. The whistle rang signalling the end of the match. You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding in and cheered wildly for Itachiyama. They won.
The teams lined up and shook hands with the exception of Sakusa who simply nodded.
When everything was over you ran over to Sakusa. "You were so good" you praised. He didn't look all that pleased with it though. "It was okay. Too close to celebrate."
"Still, you were amazing" you argued. He smiled faintly. "Thanks."
As the other team was leaving Atsumu winked at you. "I'll be see you again y/n" he called. Sakusa pulled you behind him protectively. "Omi? What's wrong?" you questioned.
Sakusa sighed. "Don't go near him in the future." he said shortly. You were confused. "Why?"
"Just listen to me okay? You don't need to know why" Sakusa snapped.
You were so confused. Why was he getting so angry with you. "Hey, explain yourself. You can't just tell me not to talk to someone without a reason" you argued. He ignored you and started to walk away. "Wait-" you grabbed his arm. He immediately pulled his hand away, a look of disgust on his face. As soon as he realised what he did his eyes widened. "Y/n-"
he started but it was too late. Tears formed in the corners of your eyes. "Right. I forgot, I'm just an annoying brat right? Sorry, I won't bother you anymore" you said before running out of the gym.
The tears fell down your face as you quickly walked out of the gym. What the hell was his problem anyways? "Asshole" you muttered as you walked away. "Y/n?"
You turned to see Atsumu standing there, a concerned look on his face. You quickly wiped the tears off your face. "Atsumu, I thought you guys left already."
"Our bus is late, what's wrong? You're crying" he said.
"Really? I didn't know" you said sarcastically. You realised what you said and felt even worse. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be a bitch, you're just trying to help" you apologised. "It's fine don't worry about it." he said. "Sakusa's an asshole huh?". You nodded, not trusting your words.
He sighed, running his hands through his hair. "I probably shouldn't be doing this considering I lost, but could I get your number?
You nodded, putting your number into his phone. "I gotta go now, I'll be sure to text you" Atsumu winked before getting onto his bus. Sakusa watched the whole thing from the gym doors, unable to say anything as you walked away. Further away from him.
