(a/n sup peeps. This chapter will be kinda short, and my school might be opening back up soon. Because of that, I won't be posting as often. 😭 But for the time I do have, I will write my heart out. Also, mild language in this chapter but nothing too bad. Peace!)
All of these people look like I had murdered their best friend, but I didn't do anything. I was just scared, and I acted. No one said a word, and the silence was unbearable. The guy with brown hair and big glasses scurred away, muttering to himself. I couldn't remember anything, except seeing a chair's remains fall to the floor, and a beautiful blonde girl with brown eyes screaming. I looked around the room, and my eyes landed on her. She was the only thing I remembered.
"I- I remember you." I stuttered, and saw joy come across her face. She ran over to me, and wrapped me in the biggest hug I've ever had. Well. I can only assume. "I remembered you screaming, and a chair leg falling... but that's it." I said, realizing I had made it seem like I remember everything we've ever gone through. Well, I assume we'd gone through some stuff together if she was reacting like this.
"I'm Sophie Foster. You're Keefe. And I love you." She professed. Well, that was a little much. I mean, I had just met her. But in a way, it was just what I wanted to hear. I felt a searing pain in my head, and suddenly I saw something. I could see myself walking down the halls of a building I didn't quite know. I was bored out of my mind, and my father... I could see my father's face. He had raised his hand, like he was about to hit me. I thought he was. He almost did, but my mother walked in and he played it off like he was pushing his hair back. I remember that I had never loved my mother more in that moment. Just as I was about to turn the corner, I saw a gorgeous girl with dirty blonde hair. In a trance, I followed her. When I got close enough, I felt overwhelming fear, regret, and... something I couldn't distinguish. I had no idea how I was feeling those things... unless I was an empath. I had jogged up to her, and tried to sound cool.
"You must be lost." Startled, she whipped around to face me. A grin played on her lips, and her attitude adjusted. She was feeling so many things at once, all the time. She had brown eyes, which startled me. But the more that I looked at them, the more I liked them.
"How did you know?" She said, and I felt embarrassment radiating off of her.
"It's the middle of the session." I had said, and when she gave a slight shrug, I took it as permission to keep going. "Either you're lost or you're ditching- and clearly you're not ditching." I said, elbowing her in the arm.
"Why couldn't I be ditching?" She said, any traces of fear slowly dissipating.
"Are you?" I asked, raising one eyebrow.
"No." She said, looking away. I laughed, and after a second later, she joined me.
"I'm Keefe." I said, still trying to maintain lie that I was cool.
"Sophie- but I'm sure you already knew that." In that moment, I had been determined to make Sophie my girlfriend. Other than my hateful father, my savior mother, and Sophie, I still didn't remember anything.
"Keefe. Keefe!" Sophie said, shaking me. I guess I had gone silent for too long.
"I remember meeting you. But nothing else." I said, not meeting her eyes. But she saw right through it, and grabbed my chin with her hand. Sophie stared right into my eyes.
"Well I guess we'll just have to fall in love all over again." She whispered, and that brought a smile to my lips. Elwin had stumbled back into the room, and had his arms full of bottles, that were filled to the brim with odd liquids and mixtures. He tripped over air, and a dark haired girl with teal eyes helped him before he had dropped everything. Elwin started to hand me mixtures, and Sophie locked eyes with a boy in the corner. Without a word, she walked over to him. The first mixture I had to try was pink, bubbly, and smelled like candy corn. I forced it down my throat. Oh gods, it was so disgusting.
Sophie
"What the hell are you doing here." I said to Fitz, digging my nails into his arm. I led him down the hallway, so I could properly yell at him.
"I heard about Keefe" Fitz stuttered. "So.. it's true?"It took every single piece of my willpower not to slap him.
"Yes. Now answer the damned question." I was swearing a lot, but Fitz deserved it. He deserved much worse. Maybe I should slap him. No, he's such a baby he wouldn't be able to handle it.
"Soph, I really need to talk to you."He said, wringing his hands together.
"So talk!" I hissed, trying to keep my voice down.
"I thought that if Keefe didn't remember you, maybe..." He said avoiding my eyes. I would not make this any easier for him by talking. "maybe you could give me another chance. You could date both of us. And.. maybe you would see that I'm better for you then he is." He. Didn't. I spun around on my heel, walking back to Keefe. He was probably getting forced to choke down the mixtures by Ro.
"I know about Oralie." Fitz said, his voice echoing the hall. I raced back, and slammed his head against the wall with my telekinesis.
"What did you just say?" I asked, but it was more of a statement then a question.
"I'll tell them. Just please." Fitz begged. I hadn't realized I had been holding him by the neck, so I quickly dropped him. He fell on the floor, gasping for air. Oralie... I couldn't do that to her. After Kendrick, her job was the only thing holding her together. She was putting everything she had into it.
"Fine." I said, running away and wondering what I had just done.
