As Sophie stormed out the door, everyone watched her leave, open mouthed and in shock. I didn't want her to be alone, so I rushed after her, avoiding everyone's stares. People blamed me for taking Sophie, which I kind of did. As I pushed the doors open, I felt one of them go into something. Peoples eyes were still on me, so I ran to the entrance, ignoring whatever/whoever was spying. I assumed it was Biana, and if it was, I didn't have to worry. I kept searching for Sophie, and I caught a glimpse of beautiful, blonde hair turn the corner.
"Foster!" I found myself yelling, hoping that she'd turn around. She immediately made a 360 turn, and ran straight into my arms. I could hear her muffled sobs, and the second she touched me, I felt shame, guilt, and most of all, fear.
"Foster, it's okay. You did the right thing." I said, stroking her hair. This feels like the wrong thing to be doing. I stopped my hand in midair and instead put it on her back. I felt Foster grip my neck, but her sobs were abating.
"But what if I made a mistake?" She questioned.
"Mr.Forkle kept way too many secrets. You didn't make a mistake." I reassured her, and through her tears I could see a sliver of a smile. She pulled away from me, wiping away her tears.
"Thanks." She spoke quietly, like she was afraid to break the peace we haven't had since we left our human home. But as soon as she was feeling better, I was rushed with Fosters emotions. There was a swirl of regret, terror, but most of all... rage. I whipped around, to see what she was looking at. I was met with a fist, coming from a red faced, puffy cheeked, teal eyed golden boy. A sharp pain flared up right above my lip, and my blood trickled down my chin. I could hear a scream, but before Fitzy could hit me again, I pinned him to the ground. Both of his arms were under mine, but his feet were flying everywhere. Suddenly, his eyes bulged and he stopped flailing. I immediately let go, jumping away. Foster was radiating very calming vibes, and I can no idea how. I looked back to Fitz, and saw him closing his a smiling. She was inflicting. I grabbed her hand, and she looked at me.
"I just- he was going to hurt you-" She panicked.
"No! It's okay! We just have to get him to Elwin to make sure that he's alright." I said, letting go of her hand. I'm sure if Fitz could see us he wouldn't like me touching Sophie. I grabbed him by the ankles, only to find Sophie standing so far away from him you'd think he had the black plague (For the month we were hiding with humans, we did a lot of research on the history of the lost cities, and I am so glad that I'm an elf).
"Keefe... I can't touch him..." She faltered, not meeting my eyes.
"That's okay- do you think you could use telekinesis?" I asked, hoping that telekinesis wouldn't break whatever moral guidelines she had put up for herself. She quickly nodded, and Fitz's head lifted off the ground. Even in this sleep-like trance of his, I could feel the anger, resentment, and most of all, regret. Quick to react, I leaned down to pick him up, when an invisible force knocked me down.
"Biana.." I muttered, trying to sense where she was.
"Biana? Where are you?" Sophie said, frantically looking around.
"Don't bother. She's not going to reap-" I said, getting cut off when Foster was wrapped in a hug with Biana. The one thing about Biana is that she loves to prove people wrong.
"I'm so mad at you but at the same time I can't believe you're here" Biana blubbered, sobbing. At first I was a little annoyed, but then I saw Foster full on weeping.
"I MISSED YOU SO MUCH" She wailed. All of this crying was definitely going to attract some attention. I looked back to make sure Fitz hadn't hit his head to badly when Sophie dropped him, but he was gone. Panicking, I looked ran around the cry fest to see if he had ran out the doors, but nothing. The doors were locked. Just when I was about to tell Sophie and Biana, I heard someone scream. I was about to run back to the cry fest, but the wailing had stopped. I had no idea why, and then it hit me. More specifically, Fitz had hit me. I heard another scream and a broken chair falling next to me, before I hit the floor and everything went dark.
