(a/n HI GUYS!!! I GOT 1K VIEWS!!!! I've seen a bunch of authors do this, so I am going to write a who chapter that is just Keefe's dreams while he is dead-ish, and they are going to be pretty weird. But I'm also doing another book that's original that is mostly based on dreams, so it's fun to get some practice. Thank you guys so much!!!!)
"Keefe! Keefe, what in the world are you doing?" I turned around to see a smiling Sophie. She looked almost human in her jeans and sweatshirt, but she was still breathtakingly beautiful. What was I doing? Looking down, I could see that I was drawing. In the picture, Sophie was in a bridal gown.
"Just making sure that we remember every minute of it." I replied. Looking back up again, Sophie was dressed in the same gown.
"Come here and dance with me." She smiled, offering her hand. I took it, and spun her around in a circle. Her giggles sounded so familiar. "Do you remember the first time we kissed?"
"Of course I do. It was in Elwin's house, and we were both getting ready for battle. Y-"
"No." Sophie cut me off, looking stern. "The first time." For a moment it was blank, but then Sophie touched my cheek. Like lighting, it struck me all at once. All of our memories came rushing back to me, and they were beautiful.
"Yes. I was at Amy's house, and I accidentally answered her imparter. You transported over, and you kissed me." When I said this, Sophie started to cry. I wiped away her tears. But it wasn't water, it was blood. The blood changed her dress to crimson red, and the more she cried the more she bleed. "Sophie! Stop crying!" I screamed, desperately trying to get her to stop crying. But it just made her sob harder. Her cheeks started to become white, but she kept crying harder.
"One of us has to die. If not right now, it will happen again. And this time, one of us will die." Sophie said, through her tears.
"Let it be me! Sophie, let me die for you." I yelled. She stopped crying, and all the blood came out of her dress. The blood started to form a scarlet sword. Sophie let out an earth shattering scream, and then she was gone. In her place was my mother. She took the sword from the air, and with a devilish grin. I closed my eyes, preparing for death. I could feel the sword go through me, but I felt no pain. I just felt... cold. I opened my eyes, but I was at my tree planting ceremony. Sophie was still in her bridal gown, sobbing real tears. Fitz was next to her, rubbing her back. Dex was making more swords, which seemed pretty harsh considering it was my funeral and it was the weapon that killed me. I was wearing all black, head to toe. I walked over, trying to stop the planting, to show them that I was still alive.
"Keefe!" Sophie yelled. I ran to her, and she picked up the bottoms of her dress and sprinted as fast as she could. Tears were leaking out of my eyes, like a faucet I couldn't turn off. But as soon as we touched, she was gone. And instead of a wedding tux, I was wearing mourning clothes. The empty pit in my stomach told me exactly where I was. Just to be sure, I looked down at my hands, which were now so frail that I was worried they would fall apart. We were at Sophie's funeral, the place where I had admitted to myself that I was in love with a girl who was dead. I remember taking pill after pill to try to get rid of the constant pain. That day was more painful then the day I died. In the distance, I could hear screams. And they sounded like Sophie's. There she was, wearing a wedding dress. I ran to her, but she couldn't pass a certain point. I kept running, until I realized that I would never reach her. There was sheet of glass separating us. Literally. Sophie was pounding both fists against it, trying to reach me. I was going to break it. I took a couple steps back, and launched myself into the glass. It shattered around me, cutting me in a thousand different places. We were finally together. But as I touched her, we had swapped places yet again. She was wearing her wedding dress again. And I was wearing black yet again.
"One of us has to die." I mumbled to myself.
"Keefe, no. Don't do this." Sophie said, leaping for me. But I jumped back, so she wouldn't touch me.
"I have to." I said, wanting to kiss her goodbye. But I know if I did, she would run. And she had so much to live for, people who cared for her. But me? No one loved me. No one would miss me.
"Keefe!" She shrieked. I started to run. Sophie would die for me, but I couldn't let her. She kept yelling until I heard something very real.
"God, I love you. Please, don't leave me... Keefe..." I could hear her sobbing. Biana was trying to calm her down, but she started sobbing harder. Amy was crying. Violet was whimpering.
"HE HAS A PULSE!" Sophie screeched.
"Sophie!" I yelled, running back to her. "I love you so much." I put my hand around her neck, and she melted into my arms. I leaned in, and I kissed her. As our lips touched, the our clothes flickered back and forth between bridal gowns, black clothes, jeans, tee-shirts, and everything in-between. I assumed the scenery was changing as well, but we were both closing our eyes. I could feel everything and nothing all at once, and Sophie moved closer to me. The changes got faster and faster, until they suddenly stopped.
"Keefe!" Sophie's voice echoed through my head.
"Sophie..." I mumbled, reaching out to try to touch her.
"I'm here. We'll be okay."
