Today was the day of the marriage ceremony and Yeosang was feeling a bit nervous. Jiwoo had explained the whole process to him and assured him that nothing crazy was going to happen, but he couldn't help it. Standing in front of a bunch of people he didn't know was always a bit nerve wracking.
He stood in front of the mirror in his nightwear, eyeing his reflection. Thankfully, all the love bites were gone now so he was free to wear the simple attire of a dress shirt and slacks without having to wear a neck covering. He scrunched up his nose and played with the pendant from the necklace.
A sleepy Jongho wrapped his arms around his stomach and laid his head on his shoulder. He smiled at him through the reflection.
"What are you doing awake so early?" The alpha asked.
"Just tired of sleeping."
"Are you nervous for today?"
"Can you smell it?" Yeosang chuckled. He didn't think he was that nervous. Jongho nodded.
"Oh...I'm just a little-"
"Sshh. It's ok. I'll be there with you the whole time," he pat his stomach.
"We're literally going to be tied together."
Yeosang laughed at that and turned around to place a soft kiss on his lips. The King was feeling a little jittery on his way to the carriage. He was nervous but mostly excited for many different reasons, the main one being that he got to leave the castle. He hasn't had the chance to since the war and before that was around when Wooyoung was 7.
Before he became King, he was barely ever in the castle. He didn't like his brother and his father never saw that what he did was wrong, so he always stayed away as much as he could. But after ascension, he was barely ever allowed to leave, and once his kids were old enough to do errands, he wasn't allowed to at all.
Mingi stood by the carriage along with a few of the Kingsmen standing in front of it. They bowed when they saw him and wished him a safe trip.
The King acknowledged them and entered the carriage, a little startled when his youngest jumped at him."You got scared," he laughed at his father. The alpha cleared his throat and kept his composure.
"No I didn't. I smelled you from a mile away."
Wooyoung rolled his eyes and scooted to the side."Where's Yunho?"
"That's who we're waiting on."
Mingi knocked on the carriage before speaking.
"He'll be here soon Your Highness. He said he wanted to get something," the alpha informed.
"Alright," the King smiled.Wooyoung noticed his father's behavior and decided to pull a prank on him. He was feeling quite excited himself.
"Eh. I'm bored. Why do we all have to come?" He complained. The King shot him a quick disapproving look.
"All they're going to do is show them that they forced two people together but then gloat because they're soulmates."
"Woo! How could you say that?"
"Isn't that true?"
"No. A marriage ceremony is more than that. It's a celebration of two unions coming together."
"So what are they even going to do?"
"Just formalities. Introduce the couple. Tying hands and then celebrate," the King explained.
"You seem excited," he mused.
"It's just nice to leave the castle you know."Wooyoung felt a little bad at that. He suddenly realized that he's never actually seen his father outside the castle except during the war which he wasn't supposed to be at. He decided to play nice and not continue the prank.
Yunho arrived a few minutes later with a small bag to his side. He smiled at his lover first then turned to the Kingsmen. They bowed at him as well and wished him a safe journey.
"Mingi let's-" the omega stopped mid-sentence when he saw it. There was a rather big spider crawling on the side of his shirt. He knew the alpha was afraid of insects and practically anything that crawled, but he didn't want to embarrass him in front of everybody.
