Chapter 129

A few days had passed and everything seemed to be going accordingly. Yunho was sat on the throne hoping to get a better idea of the situation. Sitting in the spot helped a lot. The elevated view filled him with a sense of responsibility and courage. It always helped him come to a conclusion.

He still had unfinished business to attend to at Lee kingdom but he couldn't just leave the castle unattended. A thought to entrust the task to one of the soldiers came to mind but he didn't feel confident enough to leave it to any of them.

The only reasonable person was Hyun Ah but he didn't want to ask her. He felt he had wronged the alpha when he knew she should've been chosen as leader. But he didn't regret his decision. As future King, he couldn't be bothered by simple passing moments in the present if he knew it could affect the future.

Before he could begin to feel bad again, he asked Rowoon to call for the alpha. With that task off his list, there was only a few more things to complete. As he was organizing his thoughts however, the throne room doors spread open.

The alpha was a bit surprised to find the prince on the throne, but nevertheless, he bowed.

"Your highness," he said softly.
"Joongi? You've returned? Where did you go?" Yunho asked.

"I was on a mission," he answered.
"Have you come to report?"
The alpha became a bit sheepish.
"Well yes but it wasn't assigned. I sort of just gave myself the assignment and simply wanted to alert the King. Where is he?"

The prince stared at the older man a bit densely. It was common knowledge that kingdoms would be empty and that all Kings and Queens were currently attending the royal meeting.

"He's at Soyoung," the prince replied.
"Soyoung?! What's he doing there?"
Yunho's eyes grew in size. Surely the alpha wasn't this dense.

A knock was heard and the door opened revealing a young alpha. She eyed the leader for a second and bowed to the prince.

"You called for me your highness?"
Yunho wanted to test something.
"Yes. Hyun Ah. Do you know what the King is doing in Soyoung?" He asked.
"Attending the Royal meeting sir," she answered.

The prince turned back to the male alpha and he seemed a bit confused.
"What is he doing there?" Yunho asked Joongi's supposed next question.
"It's a formal meeting that takes place every decennial in which King and Queens from all 8 kingdoms come together and discuss important matters so I'm assuming he's...discussing important information.." she answered a bit questionably.

Yunho witnessed the older alpha nod his head as he was just coming to understand. He was slightly confounded that the man didn't know anything about it. When the room was noticeably quiet, the prince spoke again.

"Hyun Ah. I need you to go to Lee kingdom and tell them to brief you on the current situation. Say you're working as a stand in for me. I want a full report by the end of the week."

"Yes sir!"

As she was about to exit the room, the leader stopped her.

"Wait. You can't just send her on such an important assignment as a replacement for yourself without giving her something of representational value," he spoke and let go of her.

Hyun Ah wasn't sure she understood what he was saying and thankfully enough he elaborated.

"The people at Lee kingdom have no reason to believe her without proof. You're sending her to a hell of embarrassment."

Yunho stared at him quizzically.

"What proof?"

"Something that's undefinably yours. Even a simple scent sheet is enough since the Kingdom is not too far."
