The sun above blazed down upon my frail figure, warming every inch of cold, sun-deprived skin on my body. The soft gentle breeze whisking tresses of hair up into all directions, flying around Toga's face. Eliciting small childlike giggles from her as she tried swatting the chocolate brown hair away. She kept her other arm tightly interlocked around mine.
I took in a deep breath, filling my lungs with the fresh late summer air. Taking time to appreciate all the smells swirling amongst the breeze. The floral hints of freshly blooming flowers, the trail of tobacco smoke, the cluster of mouthwatering aromas wafting up from a variety of different food stalls on distant streets and a musky slightly spicy cologne drifting from a man strolling a few hundred yards from our current position.
All these aromas suddenly ambushed my acute senses, an overwhelming feeling washing over me causing my head to become lightheaded.
I gripped tighter on Toga, in an attempt to steady myself.
"Oh Mina, you're too cute, anyone would think you've never been outside!" Allowing me to lean on her to give my body a moment to adjust to the new environment.
"Well, it has been two years so I'm not used to it all. Things have changed a lot in that time," looking around at the somewhat unfamiliar surroundings. It was crazy to think how much things could change in only a couple of years.
Twice, clearly stunned from hearing this revelation, looked over at me. Disbelief clear through the expression of his mask—it's fabric creasing from his furrowed brows underneath.
"Are you kidding me?! You've been locked inside for two years? Right, that's decided, I'm taking you out. Shiggy please let me take Mina out. Please please please!" Toga desperately begged to an uninterested Shigaraki.
He groaned, pulling his hood further up to shield his ears from Toga's ceaseless pleading.
"Would you please stop shouting! God, you're so loud sometimes. And yes you can but I have plans for Mina tonight so it will have to wait for now."
Toga jumped up and down, squealing like a child.
Plans?
"Excuse me, s-shigaraki?" I asked hesitantly, nearly face planting into the back of him as he grinded to a halt.
"What?" He exhaled tiredly, turning his head to the side, the pasty looking hand being the only thing poking out from the space of his hood.
"If you don't mind me asking, what kind of plans do you mean?"
"Don't worry about that for now, I'll explain everything once we get back to the bar," he snapped, retrieving a cell phone from his inner jacket pocket, tapping across the screen before holding it up to his ear.
"Kurogiri, come pick us up."
A few seconds after he abruptly ended the phone call, a large black hole materialised in front of us, a thick purple mist shrouding it.
The others didn't seem fazed by this, like this was completely normal to them. I, on the other hand, was completely lost for words.
This has to be the work of someone's quirk. Maybe it belongs to the person that was on the other end of the phone call? What even is this...
Toga let go of my arm and skipped over to the ominous black hole. "It's just Kurogiri, nothing to be scared of!" Flashing me one of her reassuring grins before stepping into the darkness and disappearing into thin air.
Twice walked up to my side and placed his hand on my shoulder, startling me from the sudden contact. "It's a portal—Kurogiri's quirk. Pretty cool right?"
