"You're Anyma?" Death Arms blocked Anyma's path.
"You want my autograph?"
"King Aurea said I'd find you here. I'm in charge of protecting you."
"If it's the king who said that then I'll have to listen." Anyma grumbled.
"This is only until a prophecy comes true."
"Sure thing! Do you wanna grab a bite to eat? You seem hungry."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyma and Death Arms walked out of the store. Anyma was the only one who bought anything.
"Aren't you gonna eat?" He asked as the white chair scraped the stone slabs beneath them.
"I'm not hungry." Anyma's guardian replied immediately, his arms still crossed.
"More for me!" He grinned widely in his seat and stuffed food into his mouth, barely chewing.
"You're popular around here, right?"
"Yep!" Anyma blurted out through chewing. "Everyone here loves me!"
Two kids walked towards them, asking the champion for a picture. He agreed, the three of them posing as Death Arms took the picture.
"Thank you!" They ran off, leaving Anyma to smile and wave. His protector sighed.
"Why're you that popular?" He asked.
"Well for starters, unlike the rest of the world, quirks are very rare here so only a select few people have them."
"You, the other three champions, and the princess?"
"The king and the princess' personal guardian also have quirks. I think that we're the only ones who have special powers. Penna has it the worst though because he can't hide his whereas everyone else can." Anyma continued wolfing food down before picking up where he left off. "In some places we're loved. In others, we're hated. But that doesn't matter, what matters is the protection of this wonderful country."
"That's why I'm here." Death Arms was extremely tired. Anyma wasn't helping.
"I keep hearing about a prophecy. What's that all about?" He made an attempt at light conversation which luckily worked.
"Oh yeah, that thing! What was it? I always forget." Anyma scratched the back of his head, "Oh yeah! Basically, Aurea is gonna be destroyed if we don't stop someone or something and the start of chaos is gonna be some massive earthquake, or a natural disaster or something."
"You're not worried?"
"Hah, no way! You don't know it but us champions are the best of the best! There's no way we can lose!"
"I know someone who could beat all of you guys at the same time." Death Arms smirked. "His name's All Might and he's the number one hero in Japan."
"Whoa...he's that strong?!" Anyma begged for more information on All Might.
"He's incredibly strong, fast, and durable. His punches are so strong that he can change the weather. And he always keeps a smile on his face, no matter what happens. That's who All Might is." Death Arms scoffed almost brilliantly.
"Who's the number 2 hero? I bet they don't even compare to All Might!"
"His name is Endeavor, and while he is strong, he pales in comparison to Number 1."
"I really wanna meet All Might and challenge him to a battle! I want to see if he can break my shield!" Anyma punched the air as he normally does when he gets excited.
"I think he can. So, mind telling me about the strongest person here?"
"That's probably Ikari. Whenever she snaps her fingers green lightning strikes anyone who is pure evil! It's usually a one hit K.O move, but she can only use it three times every five hours because of how strong it is." Death Arms took some mental notes.
Silence filled the air. It filled everything around them too. It was an eerie silence, a silence that is never wanted or sought after. A silence that just...appears when you least expect it. The ground shuddered softly but everyone, including those inside, could feel it. Small pebbles quaked, chairs rattling, the glass of a few cars cracking without warning. People got out of their cars, out of the shops and their homes, to try and see what was going on. The ground shuddered again but it was louder that time as more energy was released. Tarmac stretched in impossible directions, eventually cracking and breaking from pressure. A large crevis opened up and massive vibrations followed. Every window shattered suddenly, every screw and nail flung out.
Anyma's eyes widened and sweat dripped from his forehead.
A large metal pipe above them creaked and suddenly gave way. Anyma dove in to save the bubble of people who would've been crushed by it. An armoured truck rolled towards some people who were frozen by shock, standing in the middle of the road. There was no driver; only a 55,000 pound armoured vehicle hurdling towards them. Death Arms threw himself between them and the truck, stretched his arms out and braced himself by crouching. As soon as the truck made contact with his hands, his quadracepts (four muscles that run up the front of the thigh) contracted and his knees straightened. Immediately, he threw the 24.9 (measuring this in metric tonnes) over his back, over the frozen civilians and into the broken ground.
"Get to safety!" Anyma shouted, constantly powering his shield up to defend people from falling debris.
"Is this the prophecy?!" Death Arms shouted to him.
"It wasn't supposed to be this early!" Something pulsed from within the ravine, many strange shadows moving in darkness before emerging. "Look out!"
Horrific, shadow-like demons roared from below and rushed out of the ravine, destroying everything in sight. Within seconds, the entire city was on fire.
Thanks for reading this chapter of Butterfly Kisses. Death Arms' quirk isn't named but it basically gives him extreme strength in his arms which allows him to pick up heavy industrial machinery with ease.
See ya.
