"So, you are the same young girl who was at that house when the police arrived, correct?" The inspector shut the door behind him, with Hiko sat quietly at a small table. An empty chair was opposite her.

"Yes." Hiko said politely.

"Did or did you not kill the man that night?" Sitting at the table now, he stared at her just beneath the brow of his hat.

"I have the right to not answer that question." Hiko smirked at his extremely thin face. She'd had enough, and reading up on every law while in hero training was helping.

"Correct, but I am a police inspector and I need you to answer the question." He felt angered now.

"I'll answer the question once you give me your police identification to confirm that you are who you say you are." She spat back, doubly as fierce.

"I don't have to-"

"By law, if the person being questioned asks for identification you have to show it." Hiko smirked once again, flicking her light brown hair out of her eyes.

"Answer the question...miss."

"Or what?"

"Or I will have you thrown in prison without second thought." He intimidated her but only slightly.

"Fine. I was there that night, and I did kill that man but it was out of self defence and technically it's manslaughter. It was completely accidental and I had no idea what had happened until it was explained to me by an actual police inspector, not to mention the fact that he was a murderer. He got what he deserved." She glared at him.

"Thank you. Hiko Suimin, you are under arrest for 'manslaughter'."

Without disobeying him, mostly because she knew she was never going to win, she held her hands out and handcuffs strapped around her wrists. Two policemen appeared, grabbed her arms and shoved her out the door towards the car.

"Get in or they will force you in." The inspector threatened.

"They'll have to force me then won't they? Either that or I'll commit manslaughter like I did that night. Oh wait sorry, I meant murder." She sniggered.

After forcing her into the car, they drove to the nearest prison. Fortunately for Hiko, as they were walking her up to the entrance, a familiarly female face stopped them in their tracks.

"What do you think you are doing with that poor girl?!" She demanded for an answer.

"You are off duty today so that is none of your concern." The inspector kept walking but was stopped by her glare alone.

"Show me your ID, 'inspector'. Or don't you have it?"

"I do not report to you. I report only to those of higher rank." He scoffed but still there was no entry.

"It seems I must remind you that I am the highest ranking officer of our police force, the only exception being the chief himself." Mockingbird revealed beautifully. "Why is the girl in handcuffs?"

"She committed manslaughter."

"She accidentally killed a man who had previously murdered seven other women and sexually assaulted four young girls. If I'm being honest he got what he deserved. Let her go." She demanded.

"Or what?" The inspector questioned.

"Don't question me inspector. Unlike you I know what I am doing in this business and what I have been doing for years. I know this girl like the back of my hand now I demand you let her go before I lose my temper."

Without saying a word, Hiko was pushed to Mockingbird's side still in handcuffs. After forcing the inspector out of the prison the woman took the handcuffs off and began walking with Hiko.

"Why did you do that for me? And how do you know me?" Hiko was puzzled so she bombarded her friend with questions.

"A promise I made to your mother, an old friend. I hope that answers all your questions." She replied simply as she led the schoolgirl to the nearest pathway.

"You knew my mother?!" Hiko was so surprised that she blurted the words without thinking.

"I don't have time to talk today so we'll meet on Saturday just outside of U.A. We can talk then okay?"

"O-okay..." Hiko said nervously. How does she know my mother? Does she know about all my family?! These questions nearly overflowed her head as she hugged Mockingbird goodbye.

"Ah, the hero killer..." A peculiar man said as he stood elegantly on a rooftop, watching the hero killer run across the roofs below him, "a strange man indeed. I had better take a closer look."

With the tapping of his feet, his coat turned into brilliantly white wings in a flash. He used them to glide until he was just above the hero killer but they did not beat. The wings remained motionless.

"You do have a peculiar looking face." He said through a mask that covered his face.

A dagger was thrown in his direction but he avoided it. With a click of his fingers thick smoke erupted from his feet. The hero killer dived in, seeing the man's reflection, and plunged his blade into him. However, it was not his body that was impaled. It was his coat.

"Ta ta..." The disembodied voice of the same man spoke but he was nowhere to be seen.

Thank you for reading this chapter of Butterfly Kisses. Sorry but no Christmas special for this story or War Torn World but there will be one for Pokemon Legends.

Hiko will finally get some of the answers she's been looking for but a strange new face emerges from the shadows. Who is he? Could he be the cause behind the strange phenomenon happening all over Japan?

His character is based off The Masked Gentleman, the main antagonist in Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. The Masked Gentleman uses the mask of chaos to perform 'miracles' and magic tricks such as turning people to stone (which turned out to be replicas of the townfolk), making people float (which turned out to be hired actors tied to invisible balloons), walking on air (walking on string), flight with wings (I have no explanation for this one as of yet) and disappearing into thin air (no explanation for this one either). However, everything this new character does is no trick of the eye or some fake magic, it is all completely real thanks to his quirk.
