Third Person
Everything didn't made any sense. Nayeon was baffled, her daughter didn't even knew her own mother. Or maybe she should've atleast recognized Jeongyeon, but no. Chaeyoung stared at them so strangely, like they were people that she saw for the first time.
Nothing made sense until Mina's assistant, Kim Jisoo, explained everything to them. Their sweet daughter was found in Busan two years ago, bleeding and on the verge of death. Poor girl couldn't even remember who she was when she woke up, and the Kim's couldn't even report her for the fear that Chaeyoung's killers will find her and finish the job once and for all.
Nayeon broke down as soon as she heard what her daughter had been through. Now, she felt so much regret that she couldn't even give Chaeyoung a hug before the young woman ran away.
And Chaeyoung hasn't come back since then. It's been two weeks and still, they have no news about Chaeyoung.
Mina is still there, waiting at her office until the clock strikes twelve. Not leaving her desk even at lunch time and dinner. Meetings were taken care of by other people. She was glued to her chair, distracting herself from works including those that isn't supposed to be her job. She's waiting while trying her hardest not to miss Chaeyoung. Because if she wouldn't be able to take it, she might disrespect Chaeyoung's decision of taking her time.
She's scared that she'll run to her lover if she couldn't take the longing anymore. Mina stayed and waited, longer than she should, still than ever, and with undying patience.
The clock began to hit the bell again. It's twelve and she has to go home. Honestly, she would've missed it again if not for her so called chauffeur that appears at exactly twelve midnight. She really felt like she was in a Cinderella movie everytime this person appears before her.
"Is it time?" She asked then smiled at the younger woman in front of her, the latter answered with a brighter smile.
"Twelve am is cheating already Mina. You should actually be home at nine." Dahyun sighed at the stubborn woman who fixes her things, getting ready to leave.
The younger opened the door for the Japanese woman and they walked along to the parking lot.
"Did you took the cab again?" Mina worriedly asked the younger, Dahyun just pursed her lips together and nodded.
Ever since Chaeyoung came back Dahyun started to do these things. She would take a cab to Mina's company and drove the woman home. Every night she's here when the clock strikes twelve, Dahyun appears just like Cinderella's carriage reminding her that she can't avoid her reality no matter what.
She's thankful for the younger woman, but still, it pains her that Dahyun appears as Chaeyoung's shadows. The one to take care of her when Chaeyoung can't.
Mina sighed as Dahyun sat on the driver's seat. "Why are you doing this Dahyun?" She can't help but ask.
The younger woman just beamed out a smile and started the engine, backing up and going forward without answering Mina's questions.
"Hyun, you don't have to do this. I can take care of myself." Mina never wanted to seem confronting, but she guessed the words that she used can't come out nice in anyone's ear.
