They've been to numerous stores, walking and looking around, tiring themselves out. And if Dahyun kept the right count of it, this would be the thirteenth one.
Chaeyoung was so serious with this thing, she's diligently looking for the best ring there ever was. It was not a problem actually, it's just that Dahyun wished that her bestfriend dragged around someone else rather than her.
"Dude I think this was pretty." Chaeyoung said, making Dahyun stood up from the sofa of the store and making her way towards the latter.
She looked at the ring that her bestfriend took a long time to choose. She examined every nook of it, it has a minimal design with only a small diamond on top of it but it stands out among the rest.
"It's beautiful." Dahyun said with a smile, but still, Chaeyoung seemed to had doubts in her heart. What if Mina says no because the ring was ugly? That was the thing she overthink herself with, that's why it's taking them six hours and counting to choose a ring.
"Should we check somewhere else first? Then just come back if we can't find anything." Chaeyoung said, putting back the ring to its stand.
Her bestfriend grabbed her hands and looked at her eye to eye, not taking anymore of the unnecessary contemplation. "Chaeyoung, why are you so worried?" She asked, the latter just sighed and looked down. "Look, I'm not saying this because my feet hurts but because this is what I really think." She stood up straight and held Chaeyoung on the shoulders, making the younger woman look at her.
"The ring doesn't matter. Mina will marry you even if you propose with a paper ring." Dahyun consoled, she tapped the head of the younger and gave her a smile. "She will walk down the aisle, and you will wait for her at the altar. You will both get married no matter how fancy or chaste the engagement ring is. There's no other answer but yes, okay?"
Chaeyoung smiled at her. Dahyun was useless most of the times, the woman can't even bear a minute of being serious for god's sake. But now, she's proving that she's not all that goofy and crazy, she's also a very good friend.
"We'll get it." Chaeyoung told the saleslady and got the ring packed in a small box and a paper bag.
"Well, if Mina says no I can sponsor you some alcohol." That earned an immediate kick from Chaeyoung.
See? This girl can never be serious for more than five minutes.
They walked out of the store and went to an ice cream store, according to the older, this much of a compensation is enough for breaking her feet. Just an exaggerated choice of words from Dahyun actually.
They sat together outside the store, in a bench, watching people passing by while eating their ice creams.
"Chaeyoung, can I ask you something?" Dahyun suddenly said, looking at her bestfriend's direction who's silently eating her strawberry ice cream.
Chaeyoung was quick to give her bestfriend a look of doubt. "I swear Dahyun if this is one of those useless questions again." She said but turned to listen to her friend anyways.
"No, serious question dude." Dahyun chuckled and proceeded to ask the question she's been meaning to ask for a long time. "I'm just curious, don't take this in a bad way okay? It's just that I'm wondering, why are you always getting back with Mina?" Chaeyoung seemed to be taken aback by the sudden question, and Dahyun was quick to notice that so she goes on to explain it a bit more. "I mean, she left you multiple times. And out of those three, to be honest, you were most hurt by Mina." She explained.
