Dylan's View
I lean on my hand as I wait for a customer to come into the diner. It's starting to get boring since no one is coming in.
"What's with the face?"
Romel said approaching me with a tray of muffins in his hands and to answer, I shook my head.
"It's boring in here. How can you stand all this silence?"
"Hey, if I remember it right you're the one who wanted this shift so don't start ranting about it."
"Yeah, thanks, I guess."
I sigh, leaning on my palm again.
"So, what's up? You've been quiet this whole shift."
"Ah, Charlie's parents and I met."
"And? That's a bad thing?"
"Apparently yes for them. Aside from them the fact that they walked in on us they don't want their daughter to end up with a cheap scape like me."
He scoffs, then looks at me as he wipes the counter.
"You know you're not entirely broke, right?"
I gave him a look and from the expression on his face, I already know what he's talking about.
"Hard pass. I don't wanna be involved with those the type of people anyway. I want a peaceful life, so no. No thank you."
"Speaking of which, I should warn you. Antonio came the other day looking for you. Good thing you're not here cause he looks like he's looking to beat up someone."
I frown, suddenly getting curious about what's going on.
"Did he say why?"
"I don't know. All I remember is he said that your dad is looking for you."
"Well, that can't be good, right?"
"You tell me, I'm not the son here."
He shrugged as he says. It made me think of it for a second. What could my dad need this time after all this year?
After what I think is the most boring shift of work, I finally had to go home. It's still pretty dark outside since it's dawn. I don't have a ride, so I decided I'd walk. My house is just a few blocks away from the diner anyway.
I've been walking for a while now and I can't stop but notice that someone has been following me. He's wearing a tux with dark brown hair. I didn't look back at the guy so he wouldn't know that I knew he was following me. Instead, I put on my hoodie and walked faster to a narrow corner near a dumpster and waited for the guy. I peeked to see if he's near and once that he is I grab him from his collar and shove him through the wall.
"Why the hell are you following me?!"
"Please, Monsieur! Don't hurt me!"
He said begging covering his face, his French accent very noticeable.
"I'm not here to hurt you, pardon! I'm here to send a message. A warning to be exact."
I loosen my grip as I became confused about his statement.
"What do you mean a waning?"
"If you would..." He starts, taking my hands off him. tugging his suit down.
"I'm Louis, please follow me."
I frown but did as he says. I followed him as he leads the way and after a while, we stop in front of a limousine. He opened the door, but I just walk near , enough to see someone is inside.
"Hurry, before someone sees."
"That just makes it even more suspicious."
"Please, I need you to-"
"Pardon the young butler, Mr. Castle. I assure you if you go inside the vehicle there will be no harm done."
Someone said from inside. He has a firm voice, kind of reassure me. I go inside sitting in front of a much older-looking butler.
"I'm sorry for the commotion. It seems that you scared my friend here."
"If he ain't acting suspiciously he wouldn't feel such a thing."
"Indeed."
He greeted by nodding, chuckling a little bit.
"Who are you guys anyway? What do you want from me?"
"We are sent by someone who owes you. We simply have to warn you."
I get even more confused, frowning a lot than before.
"Who? I don't remember lending someone something."
"Hmm. He insisted though, it seems that he wants to get back to you, Mr. Castle."
He gestured to the younger butler and the guy gave me an envelope with a letter and a flash drive in it.
"My master specifically said that whatever your dad does, don't interfere. Do whatever he wants until we contact you again."
"My dad? How do you-how do this guy know my dad? Are you working for him?"
"That would be the last thing I'd like to do, trust me."
I frowned, still confuse but something by the way he looks at me makes me feel assured.
"Here."
He hands me a phone and I reached to get it.
"If you have any questions, call the only number on the phone, but don't let anyone see you."
"Ok, but still, I don't get what's going on."
"You will, soon."
he gave me that reassuring smile and look again, then moments later I felt the car stopped moving.
"Good luck, Mr. castle. We'll get to you soon."
I nod and I got out of the car. I notice that they let me off few houses from my house. I was about to get inside, but I noticed a bunch of cars parked in front of my house. Following my gut, I put the letter with a flash drive and the phone inside my pockets before going inside.
I open the door and to my surprise, I saw my friends, gathered and hopelessly surrounded by my dad's men.
"Well, hello, Dylan."
Antonio said from the back, shining his gun, with an evil smile on his face.
