Dylan's View
I look at Pablo and he is weirdly looking at me with a smile. I frown for a second, then look to the window familiarizing myself to the surroundings, as I think of ways to get out.
"Care for a drink?"
Pablo offers, and I look at the bottles of alcohol his pointing into.
"Yeah, I could drink."
"Great."He gestured Antonio who is sitting beside the beverages, then Antonio poured whiskey on glasses putting a couple of icecubes. He distributes the drinks which I took a big sip from. Can't blame me, this is for the stress this old man is giving me just by being here.
"Is been what? 2? 3 years?" He mentioned.
"4 actually." I corrected him.
And he is clicks his tongue nodding his head as he recall the years I've been gone.
"How have you been doing so far?"
"Good, until you show up."
"Oh, don't be so cold. I'm actually thinking of you since the day you, well, run away."
"Do you mean escape?"
"Please, I treated you well, you have all things you can ask for-"
"Yeah, except happiness and freedom."I cut him and he is speechless. He look at me as if he lost hope, but then smile again after a second, taking a sip of his whiskey.
"Well, you should've told me what you are feeling. Its stupid though, you should not feel that way, I dressed you, feed you, buy everything for you. I felt a little disrespected when you run away."
"That's actually the reason why I run away. You always told me what I have, and what you did, what to do, and if I do something wrong you'll punish me for it. I'm tired of that. The way I see it, its not good parenting skills, oh shit, you don't have none, which actually make sense."I saw him grip harder on his cane, and I smirk enjoying his annoyance. I heard him clear his throat, so I look back to him.
"I see you're doing good by yourself. You even grew a sharp tongue."
"Yeah, so? Can I go now? You literally have nothing good to say, might as well leave me here."
"I will, I just need to tell you one thing."
"That is?"
"Your mother, she's sick. And she wanted to see you, soon as possible."I knitted my eyebrows, as it registered to me. My heart pounds nervous, I'm worried. But on the other hand, its my father were talking with. He can con you into believing things that is not true.
"You're lying. How dare you use mom to trap me into coming with you."
"I'm not lying. She is indeed ill."He gestured Antonio, then Antonio pulls out an envelop and gave it to me. I cluelessly open the envelop, its a letter, from mom.
I read through the letter, on her handwriting. She is really sick, and wanted to see me. I clenched my jaw, feeling really worried and angry at myself at the same time.
You see, in that house, mom is the only one I can trust. She's the only one who truly cares about me. She took care of me, she's a best mom for me.
"I need to see her." I said to my dad, still looking down at the letter.
"Very well, we will wait for you at the house. She'd be happy to see you."
I nod and I felt the limousine suddenly stops.
"Off you go."
"Thanks."Charlie's View
My mom storms out of the car, upset and I sheepishly follow her out. She slams the door open, obviously mad about what happened at the ball. I look at Dad, and he just shortly smiled at me, following mom inside. I let out a big sigh, then follow them inside. I see mom pouring a glass of wine on the kitchen counter, and dad standing behind him.
I'll you what happened. Back at the party, mom introduced me to this guy my age. He's the son of one of my moms client. A CEO for some type of tech company. Everything was going fine, until he asked me to dance. Of course I said yes, since my mom is watching. I actually know she is trying to set me up on this guy. I wish I should've known, so I can tell her I'm sick or something to escape the party. But its too late.
The guy and I dance, I thought it is just a simple dance, but the guy was aggressively sexual. He's whispering naughty things to me, which I didn't like. I politely asked him to stop, but he just laughed at me, and pulls me closer, grabs my bottoms and kissed my neck which I am surprised of so I pushed him. Too hard that he ended up bumping into one of the waiters, which made the drinks be poured into his white shiny coat. Everybody was shocked, and the guys was obviously upset. It did not look good so I run out of the place, next thing I know I'm here with my raging mom.
"Charlie what were you thinking?! That's the a client's son for Pete's sake!"
"But mom, he was harassing me!"
"Harassing you how? Nobody see's it, so how can you prove it? You we're dancing."
I frown looking at him. Not believing who she's siding.
"Mom, were you even looking at us?"
She looked at me, she can't even answer me. Dad seemed to feel the tension so he tried to break it with his words.
"Honey, please, it late, why don't you two girls rest?" Dad interrupts. But mom didn't listen. She even stepped closer to me, angry this time.
"How dare you talk back to me?"
I've had enough. I'm done with this bullshit She always tells me what to do and I am done. She can't control my life anymore.
"Yeah, I knew it, you're not even paying attention. And you choose to side the wrong here, fantastic."
I said getting my purse, preparing myself to leave. I walk out of the kitchen and mom storms out herself shouting at me.
"You're wrong! You will always be wrong! I'm the mom here, I know what's best for you!"
I smirked, not believing the words that are coming out her mouth. She's hopeless.
"Yeah, apparently its right to let your daughter be harassed and embarrassed in front of people."
