Shane's View
Its been a while since I started visiting the local library. Whenever I have time, I go and I read books. I'll stay longer than I would before. There is just something in this place that lures me in every time.
My eyes follows the girl wearing a pink ruffly dress as she casually search for the book she wanted to read.
Her brown curly hair falls on her back perfectly. She moves gracefully, and her face is just too pretty. Don't forget the smile she have, its wonderful.
She looks fantastic.
If it weren't for my look, I would totally look like a creep right now.
It was almost a month since when I first met her. It was in this very place when it happened. I just help her from reaching a book and turns out that that book was one of my favorite. After that we started conversing about it and I guess that's when I started to feel different towards her.
When she first smile at me I knew I'm going to be in trouble. My body froze, and my mind went blank. Also, there is something about my gut that keeps on acting up whenever I'm with her. And no, I'm not an idiot to not notice that I started to have romantic feelings for her.
She caught me looking at her, so I act normal and smile at her. She smiled back at me as she find her way towards my table.
"Keeping busy, I see." She said as she sits in front of me, placing couple of books over the table.
"I have to. Finals is in a few weeks."
"Woah, you must be really smart. I mean, when we first talk, you already have interesting stuff to tell."
"You're interesting too."
I said looking straight through her eyes, and I notice her face turned red a little bit. She frown a little so I panicked, starting to stutter.
"I-I mean,t-the book, yeah book t-that you thought about me, it was uh, uh, it was interesting too. So thats why um, I said you're interested too, so."
"Alright..." She nod slowly, I suppose getting weirded out of me.
Her phones beeps, so I took the chance to curse at myself from stuttering. I almost blew it up so I close my eyes and I shake my head and hate myself and I refrain on acting like an idiot.
Just don't talk Shane. Never speak a word.
I heard her clear her throat so I look back at her, awkwardly smiling. She purses her lips as she put her phone on her bag and look back to me again.
"Its my dad's driver. He's already outside waiting for me so I have to go. It was nice seeing you today Shane, catch you up next time?"
"Um, yeah sure. See you around."
"Ok, see ya."
She winks and smile at me then she left getting her books. She looks back and waved at me so I did the same. I follow her as she walk outside, and when I can't see her no more, I sigh, pressing my palm towards my face as I get annoyed of myself.
"If I we're you, I will keep it down, you don't want that grumpy old librarian kick your loving ass out of here."
I look up, getting annoyed even more as I watch Jonathan walk up to me with his teasing smile and that irritating naughty smile of him, turning the chair towards him and sit on it.
Fucking hell.
"What are you doing in here?"
"Grabbing some knowledge?"
"Oh yeah? Like hell you are."
"Hey, I know I'm not as smart as you but it is our last year of high school. And I need to study if I want to get accepted to college."
"You serious?"
"Yeah, I am actually meeting Charlie here. I ask her to help me out with studying, but I guess she's running late."
He turn on his phone and show the messages from Charlie, and that's when I believe it. I just simply nod, and close my book setting it aside since I've finish reading it.
"Why wouldn't you ask for my help?"
I ask seriously and he just chuckles.
"Nah bro, I'll just be a pain in your ass."
He said looking at me serious, but he have this forced smile on his face which always makes me somehow guilty.
"Besides, I can't bother you when you're busy with other things."
He said looking at the entrance of the library, looking back at me with a teasing face. I immediately understood given that his giving me the most annoying look.
"Buzz off."
"Who's she? She's cute, what's her name?"
"None of your business."
"Damn, that's a terrible name."
"Yeah, it is, smart ass."
"Fine, I'll stop...if you tell her name."
He wiggles his eyebrow and I narrow my eyes on him, giving him the deadliest look but who am I joking? Its my brother we're talking about. I won't even win a fight.
"Heaven." I murmured.
He seemed to hear it and give me a dirty smile.
"Hell yeah, she's gonna bring you to heaven."
I pick up my book and theatened him with it.
"Get your ass out of here!"
