Charlie's View

It became wonderful when Dylan show up, now I don't feel like I'm going to be bored out my mind anymore at this party. We decided to sit in the garden, and he did take off his jacket for me to lay on it, and we start star gazing together. It's romantic.

"You know what I wanna be when I was a kid?"

Dylan asks breaking the beautiful silence.

"What?"

"An astronaut."

I frown because I don't believe him and he seems to notice. I mean his demeanor doesn't really speak astronaut for me.

"Seriously?"

"Wow, looks like you don't believe me."

"Honestly, I'm sorry, but you don't look like you had the thing to be an astronaut, babe."

"Do you mean the brains? And you had to add the word babe in the end so it won't hurt that much?"

I sheepishly nod.

"Ouch."

"I'm sorry."

He scoffs, chuckling afterward. He gets to sit up and look down at me.

"No, you're right, I don't think I would make it anyway, I just think it's cool because you get fly outer space and meet aliens."

"What?*chuckles*"

"Hey, I was a kid."

We both laugh at his childhood dream, and it was amazing. Seeing him like this, it is cute, I don't think I can ever leave without him.

I cupped his face and lean up to him so I can reach his lips and give him a sweet kiss.

"What was that for?" He asks with a smile on his face.

"Nothing, I just...I love that we're together, that's all."

He smiled as if his face is going to rip. And lean down again, but before he ever reaches to kiss me again, someone interrupted me, calling Dylan's name.

"Dylan?"

It was a girl, in a black sequence dress, and a black mask on. We look at each other confused as to who the woman is. Dylan helped me to get up, and the girl took a few steps forward, taking her mask off.

"Amanda?"

Amanda? That name is familiar. And come to look at it, she looks familiar too.

She's the girl Clarity and I run into when we were at the grocery store. And how come Dylan knows her? Dylan looks so confused right now, so am I. I was gonna say something, but the phone suddenly rings bringing everybody's attention to me. I sheepishly look at them before answering the call. Its Mom.

"Hello, mom?"

"Where are you? I've been looking for you. The speech is about to begin."

"Yeah, I know, I'm sorry. I just uh...I think I lost my way back to the ballroom. The place is quite big."

"Fine. but please come back here immediately. I wanna introduce you to someone."

"Umm, yes, I'm on my way."

I hang up and put the phone back in my purse. I look at Dylan, he still looking at the girl, sort of confused and mad at the same time. I won't stay, but I have to go inside.

"Dylan I have to leave, they're looking for me."

"Right now? Let me come with you."

I shake my head.

"I have to go alone. Besides, I think you two have to talk?"

I said skeptically, looking at Amanda, then back at Dylan. He hesitated, but nod his head eventually.

"I'll go inside now. I'll see you around."

I gave him a quick peck on the cheek then left, smiling at the girl as goodbye on my way back inside the ballroom.

Dylan's View

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I'm invited to the party, you, what are you doing here?"

"I'm invited too."

She narrows her eyebrows together as if it's hard to believe that I can be invited to this kind of event.

"It's been a while since the last time I see you in a suit. I look nice."

"Thanks, I know."

I said not wanting the conversation to take any longer. But she chuckles covering her mouth with her hand.

"You're still funny. I missed it."

I knitted my eyebrows, a little disgust of what she just said. I seemed to notice, that's why her facial expression changed into a frown.

Of all the people that I can run into, why does it have to be her?

"I gonna go."

I show myself out of her sight but she interrupts me by blocking my way. I looked down at her, and she looks at me as if she's begging for me to stay.

"Dylan, wait! Don't you wanna talk to me?"

"Why? What for?"

"Aren't you happy I'm back?"

I scoff, and she frowns once more. I take her hands of me, push her slightly away from me.

"You know what, Amanda? I am happy, but not because you're back."

I let go of her and I walk away from her finally finding my way out of the garden.

I can't believe she is here. Yet I can understand why can be invited to this event. Her family is rich, and this party clearly speaks of it. If I'm being honest, I did not expect her to be here. This is clearly a surprise.

On my way out of the garden, I checked my phone cause it's been vibrating since I was with Charlie. I just don't want to ruin the moment with her that's why I ignored it. I opened it to see that there was a bunch of messages from Alec. I opened one of the messages, and it's the recent one.

'Dude, you have to leave this place, I just saw Pablo, talked to him and he was looking for you. Go now!'

I frown, and before I even reply, I heard a sound behind me as if somebody is watching me from behind. I turn my head and saw a six-foot-tall man wearing a white mask on his face. And his appearance is so buff I instantly know who the person is. He takes steps forward, and I step backward to keep my distance from him.

"Antonio, no!"

I said in a thick Spanish accent but he keeps on walking towards me. I run and he started chasing me. I run as far as I could, looking behind to see Antonio still chasing me. When I thought I lost him I stopped, catching a breather, but to my surprise, someone pops right in front of me and fright runs all over my body.

"Long time no see, Dylan."

"Pablo" I said, still out of breath.

He frowns and shakes his head.

"Pablo? You know that I don't like you calling me like that. What did I tell you to call me?"

He asked, lifting my chin with his cane. I resist but he smiled deviously, that I have to obey him.

"Dad."
