Tears pricked at your eyes as you stared at your brother. He stood in the doorway, unscathed and smiling.
You were too shocked to say a thing. Kaname didn't expect you to. He slowly walked over to you and kneeled down so his eyes were level with yours.
"Did you not have any confidence in me?" He smirked as he pulled you into a tight hug.
You held back your tears as you tightly hugged him back. The two of you sat in the peaceful silence for a while before your soft quivering voice broke it.
"Kaname... Is Katsuki-"
"He is on deck. Don't worry he is fine." Kaname interrupted as he pulled away from the hug.
"I-I am so sorry" You whisper before standing up from your position on the floor. "I should have been able to stop them."
Kaname just chuckled before leaving the room with a final goodbye. "Now, I've got something to attend to so I suggest you don't stay here."
Kaname stood and left the cell as you felt a single tear escape your eyes. Before another could fall you ran out of the cell and through the halls.
The wooden shiplap floors creaked as you rushed to the decks door. As you came to the door you took a deep breath before continuing.
You open the creaky wooden door ready to look into the angry red eyes of a disappointed Katsuki when suddenly you're blinded by a harsh light. The scent of salt water invades your nose and you can hear gulls off in the distance.
You blink a few times as your eyes adjust and your jaw drops standing before you was a laughing Kirishima and Katsuki with a small smile etched on his face.
Their backs faced you but you could sense the joyes air around them. Tears fell in quick succession from your eyes as you struggled to interrupt their happy moment.
Katsuki rarely smiled and you wanted to take in the special sight as much as possible. However the smile was interrupted as Kirishima noticed your arrival.
"Y/n! I'm so glad you're alright!" He exclaimed excitedly.
Katsuki turned to see you standing in the doorway. Hair disheveled, dress torn and damp with sea water you looked like a mess, but Katsuki savored every second you stood and stared at him.
Tears didnt halt from your eyes as the words finally made their way to your lips.
"Katsuki I-"
Before you could get out your sentence Katsuki engulfed you in a tight hug. You didn't even see him rush over but you never wanted him to let go.
Your tears soaked his tunic as he pressed your head to his chest. His hand stroked your hair softly as you clung tightly to him.
"K-Kaname I-I am so s-sorry. I-I could have stopped t-them, but I-I gave u-up. I never w-wanted you t-to have t-to come save me. I-I'm so stupid. I shouldn't have risked your safety....... Maybe I should call off the engagement then you can marry princess Yoyorozu. She is prettier and smart You would be better off with her. I'm sorry Im such an idiot." You rambled while choked sobs left your lungs.
Katsuki stayed silent as he clung to every word that left your lips. He just softly pulled you closer. Once you had finished your rambling he chuckled.
This was not what you had expected. You thought he would scold you or leave you for Princess Momo like you had asked of him, but no. He laughed.
It was a real laugh. Not a sarcastic one, but the type of laughter that makes people stop and stare. The kind of laughter that lights up the room. Katsukis eyes beamed with humor as he hugged you even tighter.
"You really are an idiot." He said as he lighter slowed as a large grin graced his features.
You stood there in shock as he slowly let you go. His warmth left him.
"W-What?" You ask in surprise.
"I said you're an idiot, dumbass." Katsuki smiled as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
You stood there too stunned to react. Your tears slowly come to a stop.
"I will not be calling off the engagement nor will I have anything to do with Princess Momo. Y/n you don't have to be the hero. I know how much you work to become like the knights in your books but you need to know that it's ok to fail sometimes. You don't need to be the one to save me. Stop hating yourself when you mess up, its ok." Katsuki spoke softly.
A couple more tears fell from your eyes as you listened to his words. Nothing could make you happier than Katsuki's words of encouragement.
"Thank you." You said quietly as you stared down at the floor. Your face dusted with a light blush.
Katsuki remained silent for a moment before walking towards you.
He gently lifted your chin so your soft e/c eyes could meet his. You were about to question him but before you could speak,
his soft lips pressed against yours.
