The next two weeks went by quicker than expected, and the whole world seems against you. Your sister returned home from her manor in the Yaoyorozu kingdom. The only reason she came home though is to say good riddance to her little sister.
Thankfully she didn't bother you much as she spent all her time with your step mother. The only person that gave you pity was Kaname. Even though he is the one who signed on the marriage, he still apologize profusely.
Tomorrow King Masaru and Queen Mitsuki will come and take you away from the place you call home, and you were not excited.
As you look up at the golden leaves above you, you hear your brother sigh.
"I wish I had a little longer before I give you away." He said, his back was against the old oak tree in the garden, your head on his lap.
"You could always cancel the engagement." You say hopefully.
"I'm sorry, but I think it's a bit too late for that." He said, chuckling.
"Kaname?" You say, sitting up to face him.
"Yes, Y/n?" He said looking at you with concern.
"I was talking to the maids yesterday, and I heard several rumors about Prince Katsuki. Is he really as cruel as they say?" You ask, your voice wavering.
"I have also heard many rumors from other kingdoms about Prince Katsuki, and I can confirm that they are mostly true. He said staring into your eyes, you could tell he was just as worried as you. "But those rumors are precisely why the Bakugou's want your hand in marriage."
"w-why?, I'm useless." You say confused.
"Your quirk Y/n, it may not be as strong or as powerful as your sisters and I, but it's perfect for the situation we are in." He said excitedly.
"Kaname, I don't understand." You say, utterly bewildered at what your brother was talking about.
"Y/n, you can change people's emotions just by looking at them. The only downside is that you can only do it one person at a time. Sure, it's not flashy, but you could change the way the general public sees their future king!" He said, confidently
"no" You say, shutting him down almost immediately. "No way."
"What?"
"no, I said no." you say angrily.
"I thought you would be excited to use your quirk. You could finally find a guy willing to love you if you do use it." As soon as the words come out of his mouth, he regrets them.
"I'm not going to use my quirk on anyone, it's an invasion of privacy." You say, tears filling your eyes. "How could you, I want to find someone that actually cares about me. Someone that doesn't force his sister into a marriage she did not ask for. I won't manipulate anyone to become that person, and If Prince Katsuki doesn't want to change, then the kingdom can burn to the ground!" You say, venom lacing your voice with every word.
You stood and walked away, tears pouring down your face. You slowly walked back up the path to the castle as rain started to drip down from the sky.
By the time you got to the back door of the kitchens you heard voices coming from inside. You peered through a window on the door and saw all of the cooks running about.
Odd
Instead of bothering them, you picked up an apple from a large bin, and decided to walk around to one of the formal entrances at the side of the castle.
When you got inside you walked through a secret path up to the ballroom, hoping to not be seen by your sister or step mother.
They would kill you, if they knew you were outside. Especially if it was raining.
You took a bite out of your apple before pulling a book out of its hiding spot in the wall and opening the door to the ballroom.
You had managed to walk a quarter of the ballroom before a voice said,
"going somewhere?" You turned, your heart sank. Standing there was Your entire family and three very unfamiliar people. You swallowed a bite of the apple you were eating before saying.
"Yes, actually. I will be back in a moment." You smiled before booking it out of the room. You ran down 70 hallways before reaching your room. You quickly took off your soggy dress and undergarments before changing into a clean dress.
You brushed your hair, not even bothering to dry it. After you were done you ran back to the ballroom. When you entered, you ran to your place at the end of your family.
"No shoes?" One of the visitors asked, chuckling.
what?!
You looked down at your feet to see that you were still barefoot. You nodded awkwardly before looking down at the floor in embarrassment. You could tell everyone was staring at you and snickering so you just stayed silent.
"I apologize on behalf of my sister, she was caught in the storm and was unaware of your early arrival, King Masaru." Kaname said, sighing.
Color drained from your face as you looked back up again.
These people are your new family!?
You remained calm and quiet as the two kings talked, however inside you were panicking.
Oh No, what if they don't like me. Will I be given punishment for how I acted? Katsuki probably thinks I'm crazy.
"y/n? Y/N!?" A voice said, snapping you into reality. You look up to see your brother staring at you, pity in his eyes. "Can you escort Prince Katsuki to his room, me and your sister will direct his parents."
You nod, looking around for the prince.
"I'm right here dumbass" a voice came from behind you. You turn to see a tall blond boy, he had deep red eyes, his hair was a mess, it looked like he had never seen a comb in his life.
"Oi, are you just gonna stare at me, or are you going to talk?" He said, clearly annoyed.
"u-um yeah." You say, walking past him motioning for him to follow.
"tsk"
