True Emotions (Bakugou x Reader)

The iron gate to the garden was always shut. "No one goes in and no one goes out". That was the only rule you disobeyed. Surprisingly you've never been caught.

After your mothers death, the only place to run away to was the garden. Your father remarried for "The good of the kingdom", and you were left with your step mother for days on end.

When you manage to escape her, you go to the garden. Being the youngest your absence goes unnoticed, especially if no one cares for your presence.

You have two older siblings, Ritsu and Kaname. Your sister Ritsu never cared for you in anyway. So she quickly took the ideals of your god awful step mother. She is 4 years older than you and is definitely the favorite child.

Your older brother Kaname is the only person that has ever bothered to talk to you. He became king last spring when your father passed on the crown, and has already won over his people. Despite his crowded schedule, he makes sure to visit you every day.

The cool fall breeze blew through the trees, causing the brightly colored leaves to cascade down to the ground. You were in complete peace as you wandered through the woods, your eyes glued to a book in front of you.

"Y/n!" A voice shouted from behind you. You whipped around to see your brother running towards you, his clothes a mess.

"Whatever happened to you?" You giggle at his appearance as he catches up to you.

"I was getting yelled at by your step mother, she is down right mad." He said out of breath.

"She is your step mother too, you know." You laugh.

"Yes, but I am king. I'm supposed to yell at her!" He complained. You laughed at him before saying.

"Why did you run all the way out here anyway?"

"Oh, she wanted to know where you were, I said I didn't know and she started yelling at me!" He said. "I suggest you get inside before the king is murdered!" He said seriously.

"Oh all right, If it's that important." You laugh walking back along the path to the castle.

"Hey Y/n" Kaname said sternly. "I'm sorry". You stood there for a moment as he walked away.

What was that about?

When you reached the back door of the kitchens your step mother was already waiting.

"where have you been!" She yelled.

"I went on a walk, mam" You said staring at the floor. She walked around you in a circle before pulling a book out of your hands.

"What is this!" She screamed, her face redder than a tomato.

"A book, mam" You knew what was coming, yet you urged it not to happen.

"A BOOK, WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT READING, YOU WRETCHED CHILD." She screeched. You stayed silent, your eyes glued to the floor. "You will be getting 5 lashings for being late and 10 for even looking at this book, do you understand me." She said as she calmed herself.

"Yes mam", you said as you looked her in the face.

"You have a meeting with your brother and father in 3 minutes so you will receive your punishment later, let's go." She said swiftly as she walked away.

You followed her out of the kitchens and up to your brothers office. Your step mother rapped on the door with her brass cane and said, "She is here sir.".

After a couple moments the door opened and she motioned for you to walk in. You stepped in and she closed the door behind you.

"Y/n, we have some news regarding your future" Your father spoke calmly as you walked over and stood in front of his desk. Your brother stood behind your father, his eyes filled with pity.

"As you may know, your 18th birthday is coming soon. With this we started looking for a suitable man to take your hand in marriage". Your heart dropped.

Marriage? You don't want to marry someone you've never met.

"Unfortunately, no one wanted to marry someone with such a useless quirk. That is until we found a kingdom that can actually use it to their advantage." Your father spoke. "You have been arranged to marry Prince Katsuki of the Bakugou kingdom."

Your expressions stayed calm as you said "When will the wedding take place, father"

"A month after your birthday" He said, turning his attention to the paperwork on his desk. "we are expecting the Bakugou's to come and retrieve you in 2 weeks time."

Kaname then took you by the hand and walked you out of the room. Your mind floated away as he led you away from your step mother and father. When he got to your room you finally snapped out of your mindless daze. He pushed you into your room and closed the door behind him.

"Y/n I'm so sorry" He said embracing you in a hug. Tears streamed down your face as your head rested against his chest.

"Please don't make me go, Kaname." You cry as you grip onto his shirt.

"Y/n you know I can't do that" He said as he rubbed circles on your arm. "I'm sorry"

You pulled away and looked him in the face, he had tears in his eyes.

"No, I'm sorry. I know it's my duty." You say wiping your tears.
