The inner alarm had gone off and the meeting with the captains was short lived after it. (Y/n) had to admire how quickly Soi Feng reacted but she could feel the fights going off here or there between the bounts and soul reapers. It wasn't any difference now that they were on their own patrol rounds. The second division was precise in giving their reports and none of it was making either woman happy. (Y/n) eyed the squad members closely before stepping between them and her quickly.
The sting went straight though her shoulder and she dropped to a knee, pulling it out quickly before lunging at the one that threw the doll. Her fist hit into his gut, making him cough as the others held him back. "Captain," (Y/n) grunted and turned.
"Who did that," Soi Feng barked. (Y/n) stared at the other doll and grit her teeth, turning to stare at the reaper who had thrown it. His spirit energy was off and she blinked, standing still as she felt at the others.
"The bount has control of him," she stepped back and stared at the others as they blinked in confusion.
"Who else made contact with the bount," Soi Feng yelled. She stood from kneeling, her hand on the hurt shoulder.
"We all did at some point," one of them replied.
"Captain," (Y/n) warned. "They could all be compromised."
"Oh, there's a smart one," the two turned to an orange haired man. (Y/n) flashed, the squad falling to the ground unconscious in its entirety as Soi Feng turned her attention to him.
"Are you able to move," she asked.
"It's a poison. I don't have any antidotes I can use from Kamaitachi," (Y/n) pulled her blades out and the bount began to laugh.
"What are you? A doctor," he snorted as his smirk grew.
"Go to squad four," Soi Feng ordered quietly. "Take them with you if you can."
"Captain, I'm going to have to refuse," (Y/n) rolled her eyes as a small, fox faced flower settled next to the bount. "I can help. It'll take an hour for Kamaitachi to work out the antidote for us."
"We may just last that long," Soi Feng snorted. The doll flew at them and (Y/n) was the first to block it it. The small squeak made her hesitate a second as Soi Feng moved in conjunction. The squad members began to get up and (Y/n) stared to Soi Feng who nodded at her. She flicked her hand out, activating shunko and launching at them.
(Y/n) felt slow, the burn in her skin only making the haze of the poison worse as she got the group restrained. Soi Feng was thrown into her back and she stumbled to stay upright. "Damn it," Soi Feng snapped.
"He's running," (Y/n) grunted. "He's serving as a distraction." She stared at Soi Feng's shikai and took a deep breath. "Do you want to go after him, Captain?"
"Yes," she snapped. "Get the men to the fourth-"
"Captain," (Y/n) stared at Soi Feng as she hooked the woman's arm over her shoulders. "Respectfully, I'm faster than you are. And I'm your shadow, not your subordinate."
Soi Feng stared for a long moment before smirking and giving a sniff, "I didn't think you'd want to be stuck to me like glue."
"I respect you and I'm learning," (Y/n) smirked back and winked. "Don't get me wrong, I hate that you're suspecting me of the worst. But I respect that you're the only one voicing your suspicions."
"He's getting away," she motioned and (Y/n) took off, supporting the captain's back. The bount was fighting off more soul reapers with his doll, narrowly dodging the girl's as they slammed into his spot. Not only was the poison slowing (Y/n) down, but so was the extra weight. It was irritating her how slow she had become. The two stopped in a gazebo, (Y/n)'s legs giving out as the shunko fell away. Soi Feng wasn't any better as she collapsed, the bount laughing at them.
"Look at you two! Are you really a captain," he snorted. (Y/n) unhinged a blade and quickly spun it with the hooks, throwing it at him before unhinging another one. He moved out of the way for both throws, laughing as he walked over and kicked her onto her back and pinned her under his foot. "Man, you're even weaker, aren't you? I think I'll leave you both here to die from the poison that was on those bittos."
"Get your foot off me," (Y/n) hissed. He stared for a moment, pressing the sole of his boot against her chest harder than before. She grunted and stared at the butterfly on his chest; had that been there before?
"You're begging to die," he laughed, "Do you even realize you're bleeding out your ears?" (Y/n) and Soi Feng stared at him wide eyed as he knelt down. "I bet you'll die first, stupid human."
"I'm not human," (Y/n) wheezed as he stood, putting the weight in the foot that was on her chest. Her vision was starting to blur as she tightened her grip on her zanpakuto.
"(Y/n), don't move anymore," Soi Feng yelled. The bount laughed and pushed himself off of (Y/n) chest, something snapping and pain making her scream out. It started to get hard to breath and the familiar fear of death started taking her. Remembering it from her dreams wasn't the same as in the moment and her spiritual pressure began pressing down as she struggled to take in the coppery air.
"Shall I?"
"Don't you dare," she wheezed the whisper as she tried turning over. She slowly moved around as Soi Feng let out a cry, her weapon tapped against her upper arm.
"You need me. We're dying."
"We won't," (Y/n) spat softly and started crawling for one of her blades slowly. "Don't forget Kamaitachi's ability."
"I said stop moving," Soi Feng snapped angrily. (Y/n) grabbed one of the thrown blades and pulled it closer to herself. "Your blood is spreading the poison faster."
"What's your plan, Captain," (Y/n) looked over at her and the black haired woman grimaced.
"My immune system can fight off my zanpakuto's poison and it'll overpower the poison from those dolls," she grunted. "You need to stop moving. You haven't undergone that sort of training."
"So we're stuck here," (Y/n) coughed and spit out blood, grimacing at the blackened state.
"For now," she nodded. She stared and relaxed in her spot on the floor, "Three zanpakuto?"
"They prefer being known as one," (Y/n) snorted. "Pains in my ass as they are, they demand the respect of their wishes."
"How did you get three," Soi Feng asked.
"Gramps said it's because my mother was supposed to have triplets," (Y/n) put her head down and gave a small chuckle, whimpering from the pain in her chest. "It's not uncommon for one of the babies to overtake the other when mothers have twins, I guess it's the same for triplets." It was quiet for a moment and (Y/n) was left to hear how ragged her breathing really was. It was wet and there was a soft hiss every time she took in a breath.
"You didn't really betray the Soul Society, did you," Soi Feng asked.
"I didn't. If anything, I was betrayed," came the reply. "The last thing I had remembered when I came to was someone being there when I blacked out."
"I'm sorry," the apology was hesitant from the captain but it was enough to make (Y/n) look up. "We had just been betrayed by a few captains and your sudden reappearance was strange, (Y/n)."
"I know," (Y/n) smiled weakly and Soi Feng blinked at her. "I didn't come back right away because I knew it would be strange. Captain Yamamoto was the one that summoned me back to the Soul Society."
"You're more understanding than I thought," she sighed.
"I'm not," (Y/n) chuckled and yelped, putting her head down. "I just didn't want to fight anymore."
"Will your antidote be done when the bount comes back," Soi Feng asked quietly.
"No," (Y/n) started to reel back her spiritual pressure, becoming exhausted. "I can barely keep my eyes open."
"Stay awake for as long as you can, Yamamoto," Soi Feng ordered.
"You keep talking to me I will," (Y/n) barely chuckled and groaned. "He broke a rib, Captain. I think it punctured something."
"If you did you wouldn't be able to talk," Soi Feng informed her. "Where did you finally come back to yourself when you woke up?"
"That's confidential," (Y/n) stated. "I'm not ready to talk about it."
"Your spiritual pressure activates when you sleep. This sort of thing is important for the captains to know so the squads don't get mobilized," the (h/c) woman peeked an eye open, glaring at the other. "I didn't know it was yours until a few moments ago. It doesn't feel like a soul reapers." The information was new and the hallow sensing that was going around the first division made sense.
"I-I'm not ready," she mumbled. "My Captain knows and so does Captain Shunsui and Lieutenant Abarai but that's because they stumbled on me sleepwalking."
"So the damage to your office," her voice trailed off.
"I had been fighting while I was blacked out. That much I can say with confidence," (Y/n) nodded.
