((Before the chapter starts; if you would like to have the relationship between (Y/n) and Grimmjow explored them leave a comment on this paragraph! I don't really like shoveling flashbacks into my writings unless they're original works because I feel it takes away from what you guys are really reading this for!))
(Y/n) stayed guarded as she sat near Unohana, Isane deployed to help Captain Byakuya. "You seem comfortable here," Unohana hummed quietly.
"I'm not, just used to it," (Y/n) mumbled.
"There seems to be someone coming, did you notice," she asked.
"I didn't want to raise alarms," (Y/n) nodded and slowly stood up. "Permission to engage?"
"Only if they attack first," Unohana nodded. "And don't spare any effort if you lack the restraint here. I will not judge." (Y/n) flashed, a few hundred yards from where Unohana sat with her zanpakuto drawn. The arrancar stopped short, her white gown loose as it hung off her shoulders and revealing the skin on her back and chest. (Y/n) pointed her zanpakuto at her and shook her head.
"Do not come any closer," she ordered, "I will take your next step as an act of aggression when we are only healing those who are wounded."
The arrancar sniffed and flicked her short hair back, "Because you can stop me. You feel like nothing." (Y/n) laid her spiritual pressure on thick, the arrancar's eyes widening in shock as she took a step back.
"I gave my warning. I'm not in the mood to repeat myself," (Y/n) sniffed as the arrancar pulled a dirk from behind her.
"You soul reapers sure are stupid," she sniffed. She lunged forward, (Y/n) blocking the strike. "Fight me seriously!" (Y/n) dropped a blade as she kicked the arrancar back, spinning it by the hooks. The arrancar's eyes widened. "You're- you can't be," she hissed.
"Do I know you," (Y/n) asked. She slowly smiled at the thought, running through her memories and not being able to bring the arrancar to mind. "I guess I have to see your resureccion don't I?"
"You'll pay for my sister," she snapped angrily. It was almost immediate, the arrancar turning into a larger version of herself. She looked like a hyena aside from her human figure. "You tore the Hunde sisters apart!" (Y/n) threw the separated blade, landing it into the arrancar's shoulder.
It was constant movement from there, her third blade dropping as she flashed behind the Hunde sister. (Y/n) stabbed into the same place from behind as she tried to turn. The blade was twisted and hooked onto the one lodged into the arrancar.
"I don't remember you so maybe you weren't important," (Y/n) pulled the blade back, the second following down to the hilt before she threw the arrancar back. (Y/n) ignored the pained scream as she kicked the arrancar into her back and ripped the blade from her shoulder after twisting it around. "Who's stupid again?"
"You," (Y/n) blinked as she flashed with her blades, a heavy weapon hitting where she had been. A man with a fanged lower jaw as his mask lifted a club as the Hunde sister got up slowly with his help. The two both had brown hair and the shapes of their eyes were similar but his were a striking gold while the girl's were teal. "I didn't think you'd lose your temper this quickly, Rika."
"She killed Hina, Fin," Rika snapped angrily.
"You're getting ahead of yourself. She doesn't have a mask," Fin replied with a sigh. He dropped another dirk, his form releasing. They weren't as strong as the other spiritual pressures (Y/n) felt but those others had been alone; a pack mentality was dangerous to encounter.
(Y/n) activated her bankai, lunging forward without another word. Her blades hit claws as she tried to grab their reishi, the strings being swept away as soon as they were hooked. She grunted when claws dig into her side and elbowed Rika's nose. (Y/n) spun, the plate slamming into Fin and sending him back. The back of her head was grabbed and she was flung backwards.
"You're still not serious," Rika snarled angrily.
"I don't have to be," (Y/n) sniffed. She held one of the blades up, generating a cero and catching the two off guard as it blasted off. They were panting, more than (Y/n) thought they'd be. "You've done almost nothing."
"You," Rika launched forward, her own cero forming in her mouth as it launched. (Y/n) smacked it aside, rubbing the second blade through Rika's chest. She finally got a grip on the strings of reishi as she pulled the sickle out. Rika jerked back and suddenly stopped, Fin blinking as she fell to her knees.
"Rika," he yelled. (Y/n) slowly had the strings pull back into her zanpakuto until they became lax and kicked the plate up. She let go of the blades, holding the plate in front of her. It had been forever since she used the technique, the plate almost burning her hands before she got it to spin between them. She aimed it at the two, the reishi from Rika building as (Y/n) added her own.
What happened next had always fascinated (Y/n). The blades lifted themselves to either side of the plate, moving in front as they spun together to tighten the thin ropes. No less than a small tornado exploded from the plate after (Y/n) planted herself, the blades being sent forward with it between the two arrancar who struggled to block their faces. She was already tired, her knees shaking from having locked themselves in place and her arms vibrating from the pressure. "Azuma no Ha," (Y/n) growled.
The wind was sucked back in, the blades spiraling out and cutting through the pair. They landed just next to her, hilts pointed towards her hands as (Y/n) wheezed and dropped to her knees. By Akita was next to her as her zanpakuto reverted to shikai, a small scowl on his face. "There was no time to waste," she coughed.
"There was no need for risk," he replied bluntly. (Y/n) stared at the hundreds of small cuts on her arms and the severe windburns, smiling a bit. Her jacket sleeves had been destroyed, the tatters dangling above her elbows. "Return to Captain Unohana and receive treatment," he instructed.
"Yes sir," (Y/n) stumbled to get up, flashing before she fell to her hands and knees again. Unohana stared as (y/n) looked up and motioned for her to get into the small square she had built around Chad and the arrancar. "Area is secured for now."
"You didn't go too far," Unohana watched (Y/n) shakily pull herself where she was instructed.
"No ma'am," (Y/n) replied.
"Do you feel better," Unohana asked. It made (Y/n) still and she looked behind Unohana at where Grimmjow had been before. His body was gone, nothing but the indent in the sand to say where he had been.
"Sadly yes," (Y/n) nodded.
"Just a yes," Unohana hummed. "It doesn't matter what form you must have your feelings take, it must be formed. Whether violence or art, they are valid outlets." (Y/n) laid back, staring at the false sky above them as she nodded slowly. "Stay aware of our surroundings, we are far from finished here," Unohana instructed.
