The Triplets

(Y/n) settled herself down next to her zanpakuto, the blades in the ground as she willed them to manifest. "Kama, Ita, Chi," she called out. The triplets took the forms of weasels before disappearing, (Y/n) scowling as she stared at the hilts of her blades where they had coiled themselves. They normally had conversations even if they were meaningless, the three always enjoying someone other than each others' presences. She pulled them from the ground, hooking them back together as Shunsui walked down the pathway.
She had taken to sitting outside his office, anything of him keeping her a bit calmer than she would be otherwise. He stopped and stared over the railing, smiling softly as he leaned on it with Nanao next to him. "If you stare any harder I'll get holes in my face," (Y/n) commented.
"Training with them again? Weren't the decades you spent talking to one another enough," he teased.
"They like talking. Otherwise, they're arguing over what technique is better," she sighed as she stood, giving a small bow to Nanao. "I'm sorry for distracting him again."
"At this point you might as well be part of the schedule," she snorted. Shunsui pouted as he walked into his office, sitting at his desk. (Y/n) went in after Nanao, making herself at home on the couch with her zanpakuto still in her hand.

The butterfly landed on her shoulder, making her turn over out of Shunsui's hold. If her grandfather knew where she was spending the night she'd get a lecture. The two sharing the same futon had become normal, the best nights had when Shunsui was holding her as if she was porcelain. She silently listened to the butterfly while on her back, Shunsui giving a soft huff as he turned to hold her again. He kissed her temple, gently squeezing her as if to get her to reciprocate the embrace before he opened his eyes in a tired, blurred confusion.
Shunsui batted at the butterfly before sighing and listening to the summons the two of them were receiving. "It was going to be such a good night," he groaned. (Y/n) slowly stood up and stretched, grabbing her jacket from its place on the floor.
"It's urgent," she chuckled. "I don't know why I'm being summoned too though."
"You're quick on your feet," Shunsui patted her waist and kissed the top of (Y/n)'s head. He was still waking up as they walked to the execution sight, Nanao catching up with them and scolding her captain for being so touchy. (Y/n) yawned, an elbow gently nudging her side.
"Get yourself together," Soi Fon sniffed.
"It was good sleep," (Y/n) groaned. A fog started to gather and (Y/n) scowled at the speed it rolled in. Lieutenant Chojiro walked slowly towards the group, everyone looking over. The minute he was addressed he fell forward. (Y/n) grabbed her zanpakuto as another presence joined them, turning slightly to look at a man with an overly furry coat.
"The Head Captain will not be coming here," he stated bluntly.
"Who the hell are you," Hitsugaya hissed lowly. (Y/n) immediately thought the worst, crouching down a bit. Shunsui stopped her as a few people moved into place, Captain Komamura standing in front of the man.
"Stand down for now," he whispered softly. The man flipped, dodging the attack from the doglike captain before swinging his hand out. A gust of wind had everyone covering their faces. Captain Komamura released his bankai, the giant samurai standing behind him. The samurai struck at Captain Komamura, everyone crying out.
There came another gust of wind and the samurai vanished, a demon looking man in front of the captain. It attacked at him, cutting him down with ease. It was barely a blink, (Y/n) flashing in front of the man and slicing at him. It wasn't the time to sit back, not when the man was clearly an enemy. She was hit aside, rolling on the floor before she slid into all fours.
Hitsugaya and Soi Fon went to use their shikai, their zanpakuto unresponsive to their call. (Y/n) looked to who had kicked her, her eyes widening at the three figures standing near the man. Everyone began trying to use their zanpakuto, none of them responding. The woman with pigtails standing behind the two boys smiled maliciously, a chill going down (Y/n)'s spine. She blocked an attack, her eyes widening at the ordinary blades in her hands.
"Run," the angrier looking of the boys laughed. (Y/n) grunted and flashed, the boys keeping up as the woman stayed a bit behind them. Blade crossed blade, her own shikai attempting to rip her blades from her hands.
"Why," (Y/n) yelled.
"Muramasa gave us what we wanted," the woman laughed. The three surrounded (Y/n) when she stopped in the air.
The boy with the slicked back hair sighed as he lazily twirled his blade, "You haven't seen us like this, have you? Should we introduce ourselves once again?"
"It's not necessary," (Y/n) relaxed as the woman smiled at her, slowly moving closer. "You three are looking good."
"Like it," the boy who's hair was spiked upwards grinned, flashing and putting an arm on (Y/n)'s shoulder.
"Chi, don't get so friendly," the woman hummed at him. "Ita, come say hello, would you?"
"Why are you-"
"We aren't working with that dude," Chi sniffed. "We acted like it so we could get you away from what was about to happen."
"You're good to us, and a friend," Ita nodded as Kama patted his head affectionately.
"Then," (Y/n) felt the fighting, looking towards it. "Shit."
"Don't go, we're free," Kama hugged the soul reaper as she giggled. "We can physically fight with you now. You can be your own person with us!"
"Kama," (Y/n) gently hugged the woman back with a sigh, "You know who we are."
Kama sighed, her head rolling to the side, "We were sure you wouldn't want to be one anymore."
"It's getting better and you know that," (Y/n) let go and smiled up at her. "Why are the boys children?"
"It was to offset the others so they thought our abilities were underdeveloped," Ita groaned. "I didn't want to but Kama was right." There came a puff, Chi taller than Kama and flexing his arms as Kama chuckled lightly.
"We can be the manliest of men," Chi cheered.
"That's too much work," Ita sniffed and kicked at Chi's shin.
"Right, you can use our power again," Kama chuckled. She shifted the kimono that hung from her shoulders as Ita changed his appearance to match Chi's, "We know you'll want to go back and fight."
"No, we need to evacuate as many soul reapers as we can first," (Y/n) felt small as the three looked down at her. "Why did you have to be tall here too? That's not fair you know."
"This is how we look and you knew that," Ita muttered.
"Spread out and don't engage," (Y/n) ordered. "We still need to find my grandfather too."
