<<<[Chapter 7]>>>
(Recap)
“How do you get out of this hold then,” he asks as he looks down into my eyes. I struggle against him, my chest heaving with effort as I bite my lip and try to pull my arms out of his tight grip. A drop of sweat rolls down my forehead as my effort and energy takes a toll.
“I would’ve killed you by now,” Mitch snorts as he smiles amused by my efforts. He releases me and I rub my aching wrists.
“I know how to survive,” I sniff delicately.
“You know what,” Mitch chuckles as he runs his hands through his wet hair, “Meet me here tomorrow morning and show me these ‘imaginary’ skills you are hiding.”
“I will,” I reply as I spin around and march off. Time to learn how to survive, I think, and fast.

“He still hasn’t returned sir,” a quivering assistant informs me. I let out a loud roar and pick up the nearest thing next to me. Glass shatters as the cup I picked up connects with the wall and breaks into a million pieces.
“Do you want me to-,” the assistant speaks before I interrupt him.
“GET OUT,” I bellow. The assistants eyes widen with fear and he rushes out the room slamming the door behind him. I slump in my chair and let out a long drag of air as the failure of my plan hits me.

“Hiyah,” I yell as I do what I think is a karate move on a tree. My foot collides with the bark and I let out a groan of pain. That hurt, I think as I few tears squeeze out of my eyes. Ok lesson learned, don’t pick a fight with trees. I fall to the ground as I grab my foot wincing in agony.
“Who are you kidding Kate,” I sigh as I look up at the stars, “You are totally going to get slayed tomorrow. Mitch is like a pro at this, although I don’t know how.” Accepting my fate, I drag my body to my pitiful bed of leaves and shut my eyes.
“Hopefully you’ll still have your dignity tomorrow,” I murmur before I’m completely knocked out.

I wake up somewhat reluctantly to the sunrise and take a deep breath. I then stuff my face with my dried fruit and skip taking a bath. Who knows if Mitch will come and take my last piece of clothing? It’s so sad that I have live like this. To live in fear of the cruel and brutal oppressor who lives on the other side of the island. I sigh as I wish I had gotten stuck with Jake. Even though he was pretty much a spineless kid at least he was friendly and polite!
“Ok you’ve taken up enough time,” I groan as I notice the sky above me becoming blue as the colors of the sunrise fade away, “It’s time to meet your doom.” I drag my feet across the sand as I walk to Mitch’s camp, all the way regretting that I had let my big mouth erupt yesterday night. When I finally arrive Mitch stands shirtless as he crosses his arms and chuckles at my depressed expression.
