<<<[Chapter 27]>>>
(Recap)
"That is definitely leaving a bruise," Mitch muses as he rubs the handprint the smack left. At that moment another gale sweeps across the beach and I immediately grab my arms and huddle into a ball
"So are you coming..." Mitch pats the place next to him as he lays on his side. I nod as I shove the hair out of my face and scramble to the place next to him. I leave about a hand's space between us and fold my arms over my torso to keep from accidently touching him. Unexpectedly I feel one of Mitch's arms encircle me and pull me into his rock hard, but very warm chest. The urge to move away diminishes as his heat washes over my and the goose bumps begin to dissipate. I feel Mitch bury his head in my hair as his other arm rests over my stomach.
"This seems more like cuddling to me," I comment out loud, "Than sleeping together for warmth." Mitch doesn't reply as he tightens his grip around me. Soon the addition of warmth makes my eyelids droop and I begin to slip into dreamland. Before I'm completely knocked out I hear Mitch murmur into my ear.
"You caught on," he chuckles sleepily.

I wake up encased in heat with my head snuggled into a warm pillow. Yawning I shift slightly and allow my eyes to flutter open. I move with a start when I see two grey eyes looking back at me.
"Finally she awakes," Mitch murmurs as he pushes strands of hair out of his eyes. I blush lightly and roll out of Mitch's arms onto my back. The hot sand burns my skin and I sit up immediately.
"Ow," I whine as move off my butt, "Why is the sand so hot?"
"Weather changed," Mitch sits up and rests his hands on his knees. I wave my hands in front of my face at the stifling air weakly attempting to get a breeze. My hair lies against my neck making me even more uncomfortable and I wish for a hair tie.
"Mitch," I moan as I lift my hair up, "Do you have a piece of twine."
"Sadly no," Mitch turns his head to me.
"Do you have anything," I whimper as I fan my hand in front of my face.
"Kate stop complaining," Mitch groans annoyed, "It's not my fault the weather is awful."
"I want a sharp rock so I can just chop it off," I grab a handful of hair and tug it, "It's so bothersome." Mitch turns to me amused and chuckles lightly.
"Here," he gestures for me to come to him, "I'll do something so it won't bother you so much."
"You know how to do hair," I wrinkle my eyebrows and smirk at him.
"Maybe, maybe not," Mitch replies with a secretive grin. I laugh as I move towards him and turn around.
"Make me look beautiful," I squeal in a girly voice. He chuckles at my statement and soon I feel his hands in my hair. Eventually he runs into a knot and I let out a loud yelp.
"Ow Mitch," I shriek as I grab my head, "I can feel that."
"Sensitive," Mitch snorts as he finishes with my hair.
