(Recap)

“Who’s Kate,” I wrinkle my eyebrows.

“I’m taking you to bed,” Mitch rolls his eyes as he roughly grabs my shoulder and steers me across the sand.

“I’m not sleepy,” I frown as I pull my shoulder from his grasp and run away.

“Kate not now,” Mitch snaps as he chases me in pursuit. Suddenly I feel myself being swooped up and being carried bridal style.

“Put me down,” I whine as I fail my limbs. Mitch pulls me close to stop my squirming and gives me a disapproving glance.

“Now, now Kate,” he shakes his head, “No tantrums right now.” I huff as I cross my arms. My eyelids feel heavy and I slowly let them close. Mitch’s warm heartbeat slowly lulls me to sleep and before I know it I’m slipping away.

“Sir I have some news,” a woman in a sharp uniform says as she marches in the room. My eyes narrow as I take in the woman before me. She is well, attractive. A raven head with green eyes and enough curves to form a mountain. I suppose the formula department sent her up to soften the blow of some bad news.

“Sir,” the woman repeats as she bites her lip in concentration.

“Continue,” I wave boredly as I lean back in my chair.

“Um...well the production of virus D112-,” the woman continues slowly.

“Cut to the bad news,” I snap as I clench my jaw, “I know why you were sent up here.” The woman blushes furiously as she looks down at her paper feigning interest.

“We can’t create it because we are missing a component,” she looks at anything but me.

“What component,” I growl, “Do I look like a scientist to you?” She shakes her head wildly as she shifts frightened.

“The component that was deleted from the formula by Matthew H-,” she says before I interrupt.

“I know who deleted it,” I retort as I stand up, “And that is why I hired you supposed scientist genius’s to figure it out,” I growl as I slowly walk toward the young woman. She slowly backs away from me towards the door evidently frightened by the predator-like gleam in my eyes.

“So I suggest,” I continue talking as I move closer, “You and that little crew down in that department,” I take another step, “Work night and day to figure out what ‘component’,” I make quotes, “Is missing or someone will be paying for the sluggishness,” I look her up and down suggestively. She gasps as she leans on the door. Unfortunately for her, the door was left ajar and she falls out of my office onto the floor. I chuckle as I walk back into my room and slam the door behind me, not bothering to help her up.

Another knock on the door has me nearly roar with fury as I walk up to door and snatch it open.

“What,” I roar into the person’s face.
