<<<[Chapter 26]>>>
(Recap)
"Mmm," Mitch answers. He slowly lifts me up and carries me to my bed a little ways from the fire. As he settles me down on my bed I find the courage to meet his gaze.
"I really should start learning how to walk," I muse as I push strands of hair out of my face, "It must be really tiring carrying me everywhere."
"It's not," he smiles down at me, "I'm going to miss it actually...when you can walk again."
"Me too...a little," I grin at him and brush a lock of hair out of his eyes.
"Maybe I should break your other leg," Mitch wonders aloud.
"Mitch," I gasp and smack his arm. He laughs heartily as he leans closer to my face. My breath catches in my throat and I smile shyly at his face.
"Nightie night tiger," he whispers as he places a tender kiss on my forehead. My heart races in my chest and I barely manage to whisper back,
"Don't let the bed bugs bite."
"Or Mitch," he cackles as he stands up and moves back to fire.

The next morning I wake up feeling as if someone stabbed me in my side. I groan as I grip my side and try to sit up. A sensation as if someone punched me in the gut ensues and I moan in agony. What the heck happened to me? My eyes widen in realization and I wildly shift my gaze to Mitch's stick that holds scratching's of how long we've been here.
"Mitch," I call in a hushed voice as I drag my body to him. He wakes up sleepily and his eyes flutter open.
"What Kate," he murmurs as he runs a hand through his hair.
"How long have we been here," I push one of his arms to wake him up completely.
"About a month," he yawns as he sits up.
"Oh dang," I punch my fist into my hand, "Oh shoot."
"What," Mitch looks at me bleary eyed.
"Aunt Flow is coming," I grab his shoulders and shake him.
"Tiger," Mitch gently grabs my hands and looks into my eyes, "Go back to sleep."
"No Mitch listen," I shake his hands off of mine, "Aunt Flow who wears the red dress is coming. I need a...something to stop her."
"Kate get into your freaking bed," Mitch laughs, "You aren't in your dream anymore."
"Mitch I need your help," I say wildly as I pull my hair frustratedly, "Aunt Flow with the red dress, who comes at a certain time of the month is coming...and I have to stop her."
"Say it in English," Mitch scrunches his eyebrows.
"MY PERIOD IS COMING," I shriek frustratedly and watch Mitch's facial expression change. Suddenly I keel over in pain, evidently all my effort made my cramps worse. I fall into the sand moaning as I ball up my fists and bite my lip. Yes, I'm one of those unlucky girls whose period cramps had to be hell on earth.
