(Recap)

“Let go of me Mitch,” I hiss as I try to ignore how comforting the warmth is.

“Do you want to freeze,” Mitch asks with a smirk.

            “No.”

“Well then,” Mitch answers arrogantly. I reluctantly shut my mouth having no more snarky comments. I then subtly snuggle closer to the warmth hoping he won’t notice; that water was really cold! I get of whiff of his scent, why does he smell like coconuts?

“If you wanted to snuggle you should have just said so,” Mitch chuckles in a husky voice.

“Shut up,” I snap in reply, “I’m just cold and need more warmth.”

            “Whatever rocks your cradle Kate.”

Once I feel warmer I pull away somewhat reluctantly. I push away the feelings of how nice the hug was- I’m not even going to talk about it. It was completely awful and Mitch-Mitch smelled like seaweed. There you go, you hate Mitch, you hate Mitch, remember that. He made you go into freezing waters for Pete’s sake!

Feeling self-assured that my feelings for Mitch are nonexistent I settle back against the wall of the hut and avoid looking at him. I feel my eyelids closing from all the exhaustion of the work I did today. My head slumps to the side and in a matter of seconds I’m completely knocked out.

I awake to someone roughly shaking my shoulder and arousing me from my slumber. I jerk up and look around wildly.

“I wasn’t sleeping,” I burst out and look around wide-eyed. Mitch falls out into a round of loud laughter and shakes his head. When he finally recovers from guffawing at me, he breathes in a sigh and wipes away the tears that emerged because he was laughing so hard.

“I was going to tell you,” Mitch chuckles as he runs a hand through his hair, “That the storm stopped.”

“Really,” I ask suspiciously as I throw the door open. Peering out I notice that the pelting rain has stopped, and a bright sun lights up the beach. I give a relieved sigh that I can finally escape this prison- I mean hut.

“Thank you God,” I squeal as I rush out of the hut. Mitch follows behind me and steps out into the blinding sunshine. He yawns lazily and stretches his arms out almost slapping me.

“Okay you can leave now,” Mitch waves me off as he turns to make his way to the foliage.

“Huh,” I ask bewildered, “You can’t dismiss me.”

“Just did,” Mitch rolls his eyes as he crosses his arms. He slowly turns around exasperatedly and gives me a challenging stare.

“Well I’m not leaving till I feel like it,” I sputter as I plant my feet into the still wet sand.

“Sure about that,” Mitch takes a step closer as a naughty smile spreads across his face and his grey eyes shine.
