(Recap)

“Think of the worst thing you can possibly think of,” Mitch continues as he marches closer to me, “And multiply it by one,” he takes another step, “hundred.” Blimey, I choke, he’s going to kill me and then burn my remains.

“Mitch it’s only a hut,” I chuckle nervously as my eyes flit side to side, “Maybe I could just build up the part I messed up, problem solved,” I give him a cheesy smile.

            “Not enough,” Mitch hisses.

“I’ll uh, cook dinner for you every night,” I blurt out hoping that it’ll appease him.

“You’re getting warm,” he raises an eyebrow.

“I’ll tell you what an amazing actor you are before you go to bed every night,” I smile hopefully and cross my fingers.

“Congratulations,” Mitch gives an arrogant grin, “You get to live.”

I stand in the woods looking for something to make Mitch’s dinner with.  He never said his dinner had to be edible. I giggle viciously and search for the most disgusting things you could cook with. I bite my lip in concentration as I work still shocked at how much hot water I am in with Mitch. On top of the two favors I already have to give him, I have to fix his hut, make him dinner every night, and worst of all tell him what a great actor he is. My stomach heaves at the thought.

Once I’ve gathered everything that one could possibly find revolting I make my way back to the beach. I let out an exasperated groan when I see Mitch standing on the beach giving me his signature smirk. When he spots the things in my arms he swaggers over to me for a closer look. I protectively cover the food and shake my head violently.

“It’s a surprise Mitch you can’t look,” I say vehemently as he walks over.

“It’s cute you wanted to surprise me,” Mitch snorts, “But I want to make sure you’re not trying to force me to eat poison.” I let out an irritated sigh and uncover the food. Mitch’s eyes narrow as he takes in the things I was going to make him dinner with. In my arms I have a delicious variety of sticks, moss, twine, and even some bitter leaves I found.

“Start over,” Mitch growls as he spins around and marches to his side of the beach, “And if it’s disgusting you’ll owe me another favor.” I shake my fist at his disappearing back, and roll my eyes.

“I can see you Kate,” Mitch laughs, “Dinner’s in thirty minutes, you better hurry up.” I grit my teeth as I storm back into the woods and begin again. Why couldn’t I have gotten stuck with Jake?

Two leaves as potholders in hand I heave the heavy makeshift pot to Mitch’s side of the beach. Sadly this soup might actually be edible, or worse, it might actually taste good. Mitch doesn’t deserve good cooking.

“Ah you have arrived with dinner,” Mitch claps when he sees me coming, “It’s about time.”

“Shut it,” I hiss as I drop the pot in the sand, “Enjoy,” I finish as I begin to walk away.
