Stronger than the rest

Chapter 25

At the rest of the tea, we all chat about random stuff until we are finished. and the worst thing was? Elijah wouldn't let me have any more alcohol!!

"The gentlemen should take their drinks in the study." Andy states as we all stand up to put our plates away.

"I have to say the food was almost as wonderful as the company." Elijah complements and Andy smiles.

"I like you." I feel a low growl in the back if my throat and I quickly cover it by coughing.

"Here you are, gentleman, make yourself useful. Hmm?" Jenna states as she piles some plates in john's arms.

"Here, here. Put me to work." Alaric says and I gulp.

"Um, I got it." she snaps as she picks up the plates and starts to walk out of the room. Alaric stops her.

"Hey, Jenna, are you... are you okay?" He asks worried.

"Yeah, fine, Ric." Jenna leaves the room. John looks at Alaric and walks towards him. I quickly walk towards them too.

"I suspect this is mine and angel's fault." I gulp and Alaric glares.

"What did you do now?"

"Well I suggested that you were such the guy she thinks you are. And she merely mentioned that you haven't been completely honest with her about your dead wife. " john replies an I can tell that Alaric is furious.

"You son of bitch." Alaric grabs John by his shirt collar. I grab his hand pull it off him.

"As much as I hate both of you, I don't want a dead body here. and I'm sure that Jenna wouldn't like it." I hiss.

"I think I've been very clear with you, Ric. I want my ring back." John snaps and he leaves. alaric's phone starts to ring and his eyes widen before answering.

"Hello." Alaric looks at me and then hands me the phone. "stefan."

"Hello?" Stefan starts to ramble on about something. "Slow down. Slow down. Stefan?"

"Angel, Damon is planning on killing Elijah! He has the dagger. by I he uses it! Damon-" I give the phone to Alaric as I quickly rush to the doors.

Me, Alaric and Andie burst through the study doors.

"Gentlemen, we forgot about dessert." I state with a kind smile. "Elijah." I hold my hand out for him to take.

"Miss Salvatore-Mikaelson..." He uses my full second name. Elijah hands his glass to Damon, who drains it, and takes my hand. He twirls me around and I laugh before we walk out of the room together. Andy follows us as we go back in the dining room. I laugh as Elijah spins me around again.

"Sorry, guys, dessert is taking longer than I thought. I usually just unwrap food." Jenna makes me laugh as I sit back down.

"So... I know this is a social thing, but I... I would really love to ask you some more questions about the work that you're doing here." Andy asks and Elijah smiles.

"I'd love to answer." He replies and I roll my eyes and sit down.

"Great, that's so great." She replies.

Damon and Alaric enter the room. Damon sits down and glares across the table at John and I watch.

"Ric, would you do me a favor and grab the notebook out of my bag?" Andy asks and Alaric walks over to her bag.

"Elijah, did John tell you he's Elena's uncle/father?" Damon states as his eyes don't leave john. Elijah sits down next me.

"Yes, I'm well aware of that." He replies. where is this going?

"Of course, she hates him, so there's absolutely no need to keep him on the endangered species list." Damon says. wait, why would Damon want john dead? Everyone hates john but he doesn't deserve to die.

"No Ric, it's in the front pocket. On the... you know what? Excuse me, guys. Sorry" Andy gets up to help Ric find her notebook.

"What I'd like to know, Elijah, is how do you intend on killing Klaus?" John states and I freeze at his name. He is getting closer and closer.

"Gentlemen, there's a few things we should probably get clear right now. I allow you to live solely to keep an eye on Elena. I allow Elena to remain in her house living her life with her friends as she does as a courtesy. If you become a liability, I'll take her away from you and you'll never see her again." Elijah threatens. Andie comes back with her notebook and sits down.

"Okay. My first question is when you got here to Mystic..." She gets cu off by Alaric comes up behind Elijah and stabs the dagger through his heart. Elijah screams and so do i. My screams get louder as I watch Elijah die and I fall to the floor. Everyone at the table gets up in shock. Alaric pulls the dagger out and places it on the table.

They've just killed elijah. Rage builds in me as I stand but Something sharp gets pushed in my neck and my body goes numb. I fall to the floor with one word on my lips.

"Vervain." I gasp.

"Now, get rid of them before Jenna comes back with dessert." I hear Alaric state before I pass out.
