Stronger than the rest

Chapter 4

He speeds down to Elena and sniffs her neck.

"A human doppelgänger. impossible. hello there." I see her shake in fear and I just keep my head down.

"Well, we have a long journey ahead of us. we should go." Elijah says. his voice hasn't changed. still the gentle English accent. He turns to Trevor and rose.

"Two last pieces of business. then we are done." he walks upto Trevor and I can tell this won't end well. I slowly move myself along the wall.

"I've waited for this day for so long Elijah. I am very truly sorry." Trevor states and I glance up before moving a bit more.

"Your apology is not necessary." he says as he stares at Trevor.

"Yes, yes it is. you trusted me with Katerina... and I failed you." Trevor says and my heart beats louder. I move closer to the stairs.

"Ah, yes. you are the guilty one, and rose aided you because she was loyal to you. that I honour. " I move closer but stop when rose grabs my arm. Elijah glares at Trevor and i look at rose.

"Let me go or you are dead." I whisper so only she can hear. she does as I say and I reach the corner of the room. I can't do this.

"Where was your loyalty?" Elijah asks.

"I beg I your forgiveness." Trevor looks away and glances to me and rose before the floor in front of him.

"So granted." I look up just in time to catch what happens next. I grab Rose as a sob escapes her body, but she pulls away. Everything turns into slow mo as Trevor's head hits the floor and then the body.

"you-" rose growls but Elijah interrupts her.

"don't now that you are free." he says as she looks at her. then his gaze settles on me. "hello Evangelina." I slowly step from the corner an next to rose.

"Hi." My voice is weak as I pull of my shades and look at him.

"My have you changed." he says before speeding over to me. "and wouldn't he love to see you again." he grabs my arm and I struggle against his grip.

"Please! Elijah please! Think of it as my revenge for what he did!" Tears build in my eyes as he drags me to Elena.

"What about the moonstone?" Elena pipes up and I stop moving. it is useless.

"What do you know about the moonstone?" Elijah asks in curiosity.

"I know that you need it and I know where it is." she says and i tilt my head a bit. what is she upto.

"She doesn't know what she is on about." I state and Elijah glares at me.

"Let the girl speak." he turns to Elena.

"I can help you get it." my eyes widen. is she going to negotiate?

"tell me where it is." Elijah says. yep. the stupid girl.

"It doesn't work that way." She crosses her arms and he laughs.

"Are you trying to negotiate with me?" He looks surprised at rose.

"First I've heard if it." she replies and he looks back at her.

"What's this vervain doing around your neck?" He says before grabbing a necklace and throwing it across the room. Elijah grabs her face before making her look into his eyes.

"Tell me where he moonstone is." he says and I take this time to be Able to get out of his grip and run behind rose.

"Under the church ruins." she replies.

"What's it doing there?"

"It's with Katherine." he lets her go and she stumbles back a bit. original compulsion is strong.

"Interesting." a smash sound rings through the building and I feel a tight grip on my arm before I am pulled back to were Elijah and Elena are standing. I look at Rose and she smiles sadly. bitch.

"What is that?" Elijah asks as he turns to rose.

"I don't know." the brothers.

"Who else is in this house?" He becomes more stern as me grabs me and elena.

"I don't know!" Rose nearly shouts. He speeds up the stairs and to the front door. something fast travels behind us and then in front.

"Rose." Elijah growls and she flinches.

"I don't know who it is!" She replies. Elijah moves his grip to my throat and I begin to choke.

"Is it one of your friends." he asks and I manage a gaspy no. he frowns as he realises me before grabbing my arm and pulling me into him. as if to shield me.

"Up here." someone says and it is a voice I recognise to much. they are stupid. Elijah let's go of Elena but keeps me with him as he speeds up the stairs.

"Down here." my heart flips at the voice still and I watch as the two girls disappear. what about me?

"excuse me? To whome this May concern, you're making a great mistake in thinking you can beat me. you can't. your hear that? I repeat, you can not beat me!" I know all to well they cant. "so I want the girl on the count of three. or heads will roll. better yet, I will kill Elena's ancestor." he spins me around and puts his hands over my chest. he won't do it. he can't.

"Elijah." I mutter as tears fill my eyes.

"I'll come with you." Elena comes from behind us and we turn around. "just please, don't hurt my friends. they were only trying to help me." something is up.

"What game are you playing?" He asks As she steps forward.

"This one." she says before pulling out a grenade thing and throwing it in elijah's face. He screams in pain and I do the same as vervain hits us. he lets me go and we both stumble back. As Elijah heals, stefan appears and starts to shoot wooden bullets. the first few hit elijah, but then me. Elijah grabs me from behind and uses me as a shield. I see Stefan's eyes widen as he drops the gun.

"She will get hurt!" Elijah shouts.

"We don't care." stefan replies and a pain spreads through my heart. not a physical one but still pain. stefan lunges at us and knocks us down the stairs. I fall and something goes throw my stomach. an end of a coat rack. I groan as I see Damon charging at Elijah with the rest of the rack and stacking him to the door.

"NOO!" I scream as I watch Elijah go all veiny. I pull the coat rack from my stomach and stumble upto him.

"Please Elijah. I know i was gonna die. but you cant. okay!" I shout but it is too late. I fall to the floor as sobs shake my body. Elijah can't be dead. I feel someone pick me up bridal style an through the tears I see two bright blue eyes looking down at me. The motion of the rocking and the tiredness of what has happened hits me and my eye a begin to close.

"I don't care what you think angel. i don't care what ever anyone says. I love you." I hear his voice one last one before sleep takes over.
