Chapter 29

"Aren't you meant to be at school?" Katherine walks into the room and I just ignore her, flicking the page. "what you up to?"

"None of your business." I state as I read the horrible journal. who knew he had such good inventions but they were all made by witches?

"We're pouting now? Are those the Gilbert journals?" I don't reply and she huffs. "How am I supposed to help you if you won't tell me what you're up to?" I sigh before putting the book down.

"I'm going." I tie my hair up in a messy bun before walking away.

"Damon was going to propose!" I freeze on my spot and turn to face her.

"What?" I cross my arms and glare at her.

"Ask him. why don't you ask about the chain around his neck?" She smirks as I shake my head. "You may not trust me, but believe me on this, he was going to ask your hand before you compelled him to forget you." I roll my eyes before walking up the stairs to Damon's room. I change into one of Damon's shirts before walking back down, hoping the bitch is gone.

"Like the power you get from a spot marked with a hundred dead witches?" I hear Damon as I reach the bottom step.

"We just need to find it." Stefan states and I frown.

"Find what?" I ask, making their attention turn to me.

"where a bunch of witches were massacred in this town a couple centuries ago. do you?" Damon asks, that cute frown placed on his face.

"Possibly." I state with a smirk. "you following elijah's plan?"

"We just want to know what he was up to." Stefan replies. "So do you know where it is?"

"No. Elijah, Luka and Jonas has tried but failed. I have as less clue as them." I state.

I gets closer to Damon to read what he's reading. I smirk as he is still reading the journals.

"Can I help you?" Damon asks with a smile.

"I'm bored." I shrug before reading out loud. "'Emily and Lucia Bennett was taken by the Council today. They kidnapped them from their home and took them to the same location their ancestors were burned a hundred years ago.' So Emily and Lucia died on the site of the massacre, too. Does it say where?" I ask and Try to take the journal but he doesn't let me. I pout as Damon frowns.

"Nope." He smiles and my eyes trial down his neck and land on a chain.

"What's that?" I ask as I point to his neck.

"What?" He asks in confusion. I roll my eyes before grabbing the chain and pulling it from his neck. I vamp speed in front of him, his bright blues eyes wide.

"This." I hold out the chain between my fingers, a delicate silver ring with blue sapphires and diamonds on.

"It was my mothers." he states as he tries to get it back. Damon stands over me as I hold the necklace away.

"Katherine told me you were going to ask my hand." I state and he frowns.

"And you believe her?" He ask as he reaches for the ring again, this time I let him have it. "It was my mothers ring. Katherine is making it up." he states as he sits back down.

"Okay. now everything is cleared up. I'm hungry." I pout and he sits back down. Part of me wanted want Katherine said to be true, that Damon did lie me enough to spend the rest of his life with me. the half that fell deeply and madly in love with him, that made me reject my soul mate and that hopes he will still want to be with me. But the other half is okay with what Damon has said.

"You're the unwanted house guest. Go feed yourself." I go to reply but ignore him and make my way to the basement door. but something makes me stop. i hear a smash and then something getting thrown across the room.

"Why did you have to compel me. I loved you." I can tell Damon didn't mean for me to hear this so I continue down I the basement and to the fridge. I pull out a blood bag but I feel something off.

---Third person---

Angel goes in the cellar and looks at Elijah's body. She's about to leave when she hears the dagger. Luka's trying to remove it. Angel doesn't see him but she rushes on the dagger and maintains it in Elijah's heart.

"She's fighting me." Luka gasps as he tries to pull the dagger out.

"What's wrong?" Jonas asks his son.

"Angel! She is fighting me!" Angel keeps trying to push the dagger in and keep it there, a determined look on her face.

"Luka... kill her." Jonas replies, with all seriousness.

"What?" Luka is surprised at the meer thought of doing something like that to a friend.

"She's a vampire. Find a stake and drive it through her heart." Jonas commands.

Luka releases the dagger. Angel releases it too and looks around the room. She sees a wooden chair being broken but doesn't see anyone.

"Damon!" Luka drives a stake through her body but misses her heart. She gasps in pain as Damon arrives.

"Angel." She removes the stake with Damon's help. "What happened?"

"Damon...." Angel looks at Elijah's body. Luka's removing the dagger. Damon takes fire and burns around the room. angel gasps as the wound heals.

"Luka! Luka!" The witch stares at his son in horror as he burns.

Stefan rejoins them as the two stare at the body. Angel still trying to get her head around what happened. but Damon already knowing.

"What are you doing?!" Stefan snaps and his brother and friend look at him.

"Some kind of crazy ass psychic witch attack! Get over there and do something about it. Go!" Damon commands and realisation hits Angel.

"LUKA!" She uses her vamp speed to get out of there as fast as possible.

Luka is burning. Jonas rushes over to his son.

"Oh, my God! Luka! Luka! I'm sorry. Please. Just wake up, son. Open your eyes." He takes a grimoire and cast a spell but that doesn't do anything.
