Missing him was like having a heart break into millions of little pieces. The house was to empty and quiet without the laughter and the sarcasm from the man she has loved since she was 16. George Luz. He was the man you had been in love with since school, he was the one that made your saddest of days seem brighter then what they were. But now
it's been three years since you kissed him goodbye on that train station platform, waving to him as the train takes him to Georgia for training. He was going to war one way or another. George was to become a Paratrooper, a new regiment that the army had made.
You got letters from George throughout the war and he also sent you his money to keep you going, you hadn't told him you weren't spending it and you were actually putting it aside in a box under the bed. That was his money and you didn't deserve to spend it is what you thought. After George left for the war you got a job as a receptionist at a doctors clinic, they paid pretty good money and that's what you were living on for now.
Over time George's letters got smaller and more to the point, you understood completely and never pushed him to write massive amounts, all you wanted was to know he was alive and breathing.
You sighed as you looked at the letters that sat on your dresser in your guys room. You kept them there to look over when you missed him more on some days.
As the sun was rising over the hills you decided to get up and start your day. Today was Saturday and that meant you got the weekend off.
As you made your way down the stairs you saw your cat Mippy rolling around in the sun that came through the window
"Silly girl" you chuckled and walked to the kitchen for some coffee.
George always asked how the cat was and made sure you brought the right cat food which made you laugh everytime.
As you picked your coffee up you went to go sit outside on the porch with your book and the cat followed you out as well.
Looking out over the street you saw everyone was busy doing there morning routines. It put a smile on your face, it's what you couldn't wait for when George comes home.
You sat down on the steps and placed your coffee down on the wooden step next to you, picking your book up you opened it and started to read.
You hadn't heard the gate to your yard open and you hadn't heard the footsteps stop not far from you.
" excuse me miss" your head snapped up, you knew that voice, you would never ever forget who that belonged to.
There In front of you stood the love of you life in his army uniform with his things hung on his shoulder with a massive smile on his face. He looked absolutely handsome in his uniform- but then again he looked handsome in anything.

"Would a beautiful girl like yourself be single by any chance?"
You rolled your eyes, George being the forever flirt that he was. "Unfortunately not, I'm waiting for a handsome paratrooper to come home"
George stood by the gate and you could see the loving look he sent you, he had missed you so bloody much, he always told you that but now you could see it in his eyes how much he really missed you and missed home.
George took the time to look you over and he couldn't help the butterflies that swam around his stomach, you were as beautiful as ever like always he thought. He couldn't help the smile that climbed up his face.

"George Luz I swear if you don't come here right and kiss me-" he dropped his gear and ran up the path to where you were sat, you stood up and his hands found your face and then his lips found yours.
You both groaned at the contact, your first kiss in three long painful years, your arms wrapped around his neck and he pulled you closer while deepening the kiss.
Once he pulled away he leant his forehead on yours and you both just looked into each other's eyes.
"I've missed you so much darling" he whispered and you saw a tear roll down his face. Your George never cried.
"Oh George, I've missed you just as much" you wiped his tears away and hugged him.
He buried his head in your hair and you heard him sigh, he was happy to be home at last.
"You smell really nice honey, I've definitely missed that" you laughed and pulled away from him.
"Well you better get used to it cause three years of me on my own and I'm sure the whole house smells of me" he chuckled and looked over your face, you felt a blush come on your checks.
"I'll never get sick of it, or you for that matter" you peaked his lips and he groaned which made you laugh.
"God it's good to be home" he whispered to his self but you heard. You walked past him to grab his stuff but he ran up behind you and lifted you up in the air, you gasped as he spun you around.
"George!" You squealed and you heard him laugh.
"You aren't picking this shit up, it's way to heavy" you rolled your eyes as he put you down.
"You saying I'm weak George?" You asked while putting your hands on your hips. He shock his head and peaked your check while picking his things up.
"Never love" you chuckled as you watched him put his things down on the porch. He came back to you and picked you up over his shoulder and you laughed.
"George put me down" you yelled and you heard him laugh.
"I'll put you down when I get to our room" you gasped and hit his arm.
"George Luz it's 8:30 in the morning" he shrugged his shoulders.
"It's been three years Mia come one please" he Asked and you couldn't help up but laugh.
"Fine George to our room it is" you heard him chuckle and then he was off up the stair to your guys room where he showed you just how much he missed you over those three years and you doing the same.
It was good to have George home at last.
