Joe Toye

(A/N This on is a little short sorry)

Being back in England for the time being was a blessing to many of the guys in easy company, you being one of them.
After spending so much time out in Normandy you couldn't help but relish in the warm food, clean beds and dry clothing.
Although being off the line lead to many people letting there mind wonder and course nightmares through out the nights.
Unfortunately you were one of the lucky ones that couldn't help but let your mind wonder, if it wasn't for Joe being by your side you didn't know what you'd do.
For a while not you and Joe have been tip towing around each other's feelings, you of course knew Joe felt something for you but you weren't fully sure, bill had told both of you separately to sort it out and just tell each other but neither of you listened to your friend.

Most of easy decided to make camp up in a barn and stay close to one another, you were all each other had left and knew everyone struggled with things in there own way, you were asleep across from Joe and Bill when Joe could see your hands twitching, your brows pulled together in pain or confusion he couldn't tell, most of the guys were asleep and hadn't noticed Joe still up as he watched over you.
He heard your breathing get faster and knew you were in a nightmare.
He didn't know what to do, he had been told loads of times to never wake someone who is dreaming or having a nightmare because it could course some harm to the person.
All of a sudden you shot up off your pillow and made eye contact with Joe, he could see the tears flowing down your face and moved off his bed in lightening speed to be by your side.
"Nightmare?" He asked but his voice was husky from not speaking to anyone in a little while.
You just nodded before putting your head in your hands.
"Hey it's ok to have them, we all get them" you sighed and looked at Joe, you could see the concern in his brown eyes that looked all over your face.
Joe wiped away some fallen tears which made you smile a little, seeing you smile made Joe feel a bit better, even if it wasn't a full smile like normal.
"I'll let you get back to sleep" he stood up and went to walk away when he felt you grab his hand.
"Joe will you stay with me?" He looked into yours eyes and saw fear but overall tiredness.
"Sure" he said before climbing in be side you and pulling you into his chest, he pulled your leg over his hip and it caused you to blush and gasp.
He chuckled but pulled you closer.
After a little while of silence Joe thought you had gotten back to sleep but you turned your head to look at him, he looked down at you.
"You love me real or not real?" You asked.
You saw him grin before kissing your hair.
"Real" he whispered. Smiling you looked away and closed your eyes.
Falling asleep in joes arms just so happened to be the best sleep you had while being off the line, You and joe made it offical and started dating after being dropped back into the war zone.
