"You listening?" You looked at Bill who was sat across from you and then looked up at Buck. He had a serious face on while looking at you, Bill and Babe
"Yeah no funny business Buck" you replied and he nodded his head and looked at Bill.
"And you Wild Bill. Don't you go doing anything stupid or I'll-" Bill cut him off with a smirk on his face.
"I know I know you'll kill me" Bill replied and you couldn't help but grin a little.
"Even if your dead I'll still kill ya" buck said and then he stood up and left.
You looked at Bill and scoffed.
"Who is he kidding Bill. We volunteered to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane, how more stupid could you get?!" Bill chucked at your statement.
"I have no idea sweetheart" you smiled at Bill and chuckled.
Little did you know you didn't have much longer with Bill.

As you sat in your foxhole next to Bill you played with your necklace that was around your neck, the necklace that Bill had given you for your 21st, that was almost a year ago now.
You smiled at the memory like it was yesterday.
"I can't wait to get out of here" you looked to Bill and nodded as you continued to play with your necklace. As you were about to open your mouth to reply to Bill, a loud whistle came through the trees while exploding not to far away from your foxhole. You both ducked right down into the floor as the bombs rained down around you. It felt like the 4th of July expect these fireworks could actually kill you.
Once they had finished you heard lip tell everyone to stay in there holes. You and Bill looked at each other and looked out in front.
"Do you think someone got hit?" You whispered.
Bill didn't get a chance to answer as he heard his best mate crying in agony.
You looked at Bill and then listened to the sound of Joes voice.
"Stay here and do not move! I'll be back" Bill told you as he got up and ran off. Your heart was pounding in your chest, you had a gut feeling that someone terrible was about to happen. You didn't like it on little bit.

Before you knew it the bombs started raining again. You held your Helmet down with your arms as you sat in the corner of yours and bills hole. You were scared, you didn't know what had happened to Joe or if Bill was okay. Bill was your everything, you didn't know what to do without him around.
The bombs stopped and you soon heard the scream for a medic, expect it wasn't like a normal scream, it was the scream of someone who had just seen something they really shouldn't. Poor buck was screaming for a medic.

You jumped out of your foxhole and ran towards the sound of Bucks voice. As you saw him standing there you froze as you came up to him.
You looked down and saw both Bill and Joe tangled in each other, both missing a leg.
You could feel the tears forming as you watched your two best friends lay there in there own blood. You rushed to bills side as he started to move a little.
"Bill" you whispered as you knelt down to him.
He looked at you with fear, something you had never seen before, but he quickly changed it and smiled at you with a groan of pain.
"I'll be alright sweetheart, go find someone to sit with alright?" He nodded for you to leave, he didn't want you to see him like this.
"No im not leaving you" you whispered, you could feel the tears rolling down your face, you started crying as you held Bills hand.
Gene had come rushing through and started on Joe, who was much worse thin Bill.
"Hey don't cry, I'm not dead" Bill said and you hit his chest with your hand.
"Yeah well you could of been Bill!" You yelled a little. He groaned in pain as his hands grabbed at his leg.
"Bill your going first!" You heard Gene say. You looked at Bill. He was in so much pain and you couldn't do anything.
"What ever you say doc, what ever you say" you thanked god that Bill was willing to actually listen to Gene for once. Being the stubborn man that he was.

As Bill got lifted into the Jeep you rushed to his side, some of the easy men stood and watched as you had to say goodbye to Bill.
"Hey sweetheart don't cry, I'll see you again, you look after yourself okay, I expect to see you after this shithole" you nodded your head while the tears streamed down your face.
"I promise Bill, I'll do everyone I can to stay safe" you whispered as you hugged him.
"Sargent we need to get him out of here" you pulled away and nodded. You looked at bill one more time, he pulled your hand up to his lips and kissed it.
"Malarkey you bloody look out for her!" Bill yelled as the Jeep speed off.
You sunk to the frozen snow and cried. You felt hands wrap around your shoulders and looked to see Malarkey. You cuddled into his chest while sobbing, everyone knew and could see the feeling towards you and Bill, they knew it was going to be hard not having him around but they wanted to do everything they could to help you through this.
"Maybe we should see Joe before he goes yeah?" You nodded your head at Don and he walked you over to where Joe was getting loaded.
"Hey you look out for yourself alright! I just like Bill expect to see you after this! And don't you worry about old Bill, I'll look after him" Joe told you and you smiled at him.
"Please look after him Joe, and yourself as well" he nodded his head as he kissed your forehead, before you knew it your two best friends as well as your lover was gone... you had no idea when you were going to see them next, but you hoped it wouldn't be to long.
