Eugene Roe

"Come on little man you need to go to sleep" you rolled over to see Eugene's lamp on and he was rocking your new born son in his arms.
You smiled as you looked at your husband, since giving birth Eugene had been the biggest help to you, he had helped with cleaning the house, he helped put your son to sleep when you were to tired, and now he was getting up when he woke up in the early hours of the morning.
You felt a little bad and felt like you weren't doing enough.
"Mum needs her sleep, we don't want to wake her up do we? No I didn't think so either" you smiled at how Gene whispered to his son.
You lay there facing Gene and you closed your eyes a little. You listened to Gene as he started to hum a song to help your son go back to sleep.
It must of worked because you felt the bed dip and Gene wrapped his arm around you, you sighed and moved closer to him.
"Your amazing you know that Gene" you heard him chuckle as he rubbed your arm with his hand.
"No I'm not darling" he whispered to you. You turned to look up at him.
"Gene since that little boy has been born all you have done is pick up after me, I should be getting up to him and letting you rest" you saw him roll his eyes.
"Babe you carried him for 9 months and then pushed him out, I'm sure I'll be fine with being up at night with him" you knew you weren't going to win with this so you lay your head on his chest and you felt Gene kiss your head.
"And plus he likes me a lot better" you gasped and hit his chest, he chuckled at you while pulling you closer.
"Eugene Roe your lucky I love you" you couldn't see the smile on his face but you knew it would be there.
"I love you too baby, now get some sleep for me" you nodded your head.

When you woke up next you were still wrapped up in genes arms, you looked at your clock on the bedsides and saw it read 8 in the morning, you had no idea if Gene had gotten up again but you were happy he was still asleep.
You smiled as you saw your husband fast asleep.
You felt so lucky to have a man like him in your life.
As you lay there in his arms for a bit longer you realised you hadn't heard your son wake up yet.
You sit up on one of your elbows to see your son still in his crib fast asleep.
"He's been asleep since he first woke up last night" you jumped at the sound of genes voice and you heard him chuckle, his arms tightened around you.
"At least give me a sign your actually awake next time will you"  you heard Gene chuckle so you faced him.
"You okay?" You asked him as he was just watching your every move. You saw a smile form on his face and before you knew it he had you pinned down against the mattress, you gasped a little at the sudden movement from Gene.
"What" you asked as you laughed at him.
"I just love you is all" he whispered.
"Well I love you as well" you whispered back to him.
Just as Gene leant in to give you kiss you heard your son start crying. You pushed Gene off you and jumped out of bed, as you walked over to his crib you could feel genes eyes on you.
"You know Gene you should take a photo it will last longer" you said as you leant over the crib to pick your son up. You heard him scoff.
"Am I not aloud to admire my Wife as she gets out of bed, and especially in what shes wearing" you turn around and roll your eyes at him. He was now sat up against your headboard watching you.
"Maybe I shouldn't wear this to bed then" you teased as you walked back over to your side of the bed with your son in your arms.
"No you are definitely wearing that more often" you chuckled at Gene.
"What's so big about wearing a knight gown to bed?" You asked, one look from Gene said it all. He found you hot in it, you again rolled your eyes.
You looked down at your son and saw him smiling up at you, you turned to Gene to be met with his lips on yours, you smiled into the kiss and he pulled your face closer.
"Gene our son is watching" you mumbled into the kiss and you felt him chuckle against your lips.
He pulled away and looked down at your son who was still looking up at you both.
"Well he will have to get used to it won't he darling, cause I can't keep my hands off you" you laughed as you looked from Gene to your son.
"I don't think he will appreciate this when he's older" Gene hummed at you as he watched his son smiling at you still.
"I think he likes me better now" you heard Gene laugh and pat your arm as he got up off the bed.
"If you say so love" you rolled your eyes.
"Did you just roll your eyes at me for the second time this morning?" He question as he leaned on the doorframe to the bathroom.
"Hmm maybe, what are you going to do about it" you teased as you looked up at him again.
You heard him groan.
"If he wasn't in your arms then I'd definitely have you screaming" you smiled at him and shock your head.
"Go have a shower Gene, cool off" he groaned again but listened.
"Your daddy is crazy huh" you said to your son.
"I heard that!" Gene yelled as he turned the shower on. You laughed as you played with your sons hands.
"He might be crazy but he loves us both very much" you whispered down to him and he babbled at you.
"Yes I do!" Gene yelled again. You chuckled at your husband.
Your life was now complete ever since you both got back from the war, and you couldn't be happier.
