My Purpose

Chapter 15

"Captain Reina!" One of the organization ninja yelled in opposition. "Have you really betrayed us?!"

"Call it what you will." Responded Reina without the slightest hint of remorse.

"You knew about this didn't you Sasuke? Is that why you were so determined to find her?" Sakura asked thinking it made sense.

She ended up being right because Sasuke nodded.

"Obito had his suspicions on the matter and told me about it. Suspicion or not, I couldn't risk letting her do something like this by herself."

"You should have told us, we would have helped as well. We could have saved so many people Sasuke." Naruto continued to scold the Uchiha.

Thousands of lives were lost during the first half of this battle...

This time Reina stepped forward.

"Had Sasuke said anything, the Organization would have begun to suspect my intentions and gone with a plan that would have truly wiped you out by now. I came up with a plan that would allow me enough time to gather the crystals and increase the chances of you getting out of this alive." She explained.

"She is now sharing some of the benefits of the crystal with every ninja who is an ally, that is what the glowing symbol on your wrist signifies." Informed Itachi as he took one step forward so he was now right beside Sasuke who found out about him only a few moments ago.

The ninja looked down at their hands to see the symbol that Itachi spoke about forming on their wrists and just like that their wounds began to heal themselves at a significant rate.

"If you've betrayed the organization, we have no choice but to kill you." Voiced one of the first class ninja that just arrived.

Every ninja from the organization began to move forward to Reina. As of now she was the biggest threat they had to deal with.

Once they began to move forward Sasuke moved in front of her and got out a weapon different from his own, that is what it seemed to his former team.

Sakura's eyes softened at Sasuke's actions. He was protecting Reina, even when he knew she didn't need any protecting. She has proven over and over again that she can take on just about any opponent yet he still...

She also noticed that a few minutes after that Itachi and Reina were discussing something before nodding and joining Sasuke in fighting the organization.

Reina already had a bond with Itachi, something Sakura didn't. Reina saved him, also something Sakura was unable to do.

All those years Sakura has had with Sasuke are meaningless when Reina is already so close to him.

Naruto and everyone else took on their own weight in the battle while Sakura was still standing there wondering where she went wrong.

She didn't notice a 2nd class ninja about to kill her from behind until she saw a kunai dash past her.

Looking up she saw Reina look right at her for a split second before dealing with a different opponent.

Turning her head she saw a ninja laying lifeless down on the ground with a kunai where their heart is located. He also began to turn to ash along with the knife.

Reina saved her for the second time now...

Once more glancing in her direction she saw her and Sasuke talking to one another. They appeared more like teammates than She and Sasuke ever did...

Fist clenching she infused it with chakra and punched a 3rd class ninja who took a few more ninja with him on his way down. The ground was scarred due to her attack and it earned a few stares.
