My Purpose

Chapter 14

The next day

By now the battle has begun and the moon has yet to fully rise meaning they wouldn't be able to join the fight just yet.

"How long has it been since it started?" Asked Yami becoming impatient with the moon.

"Three hours. Things are currently in the Organizations favor." Reina Responded.

They were currently located in an underground section of the Matsui village were the unification process usually happened. It was also the exact same spot that the 9th crystal was located.

"Only third class ninja have been released, are they seriously not able to handle that..." chuckled Maya earning a look from Reina.

Maya was quick to apologize for her mistake.

"It's almost time, we should get into position. Sasuke you'll sit in the center." Reina ordered as she herself went to her own designated spot.

Yami and Maya followed shortly. The only difference was that Sasuke was the only one that was sitting down.

His nerves calmed throughout the time that he had to wait, so now he simply wanted to get it over with.

Maya, Yami and Reina each held out three crystals until a blue light entered the dark room from the small hole in the ceiling.

It was the moon's natural light. Once that occurred the crystals began to glow and raise from the palm of their hands to form a circle that connected the three Matsui who proceeded to change the position of their hands into a Jutsu sign at the center of their chest.

Sasuke saw as they themselves began to glow blue and then a bright white glow. At his attempt to shield the light he realized that he also began to glow, but his glow was a bluish purple.

At this realization he started to feel the pain that Reina told him about. At first he could manage it, but the brighter he glowed the more unbearable the pain was.

A protective barrier soon appeared around him and solely him. At first he question it, but then he realized the purpose behind it.

His chakra was becoming unstable, much so that the floor under him began to crumble until it reached the other end of the shield under him.

Had the shield been absent, he could have harmed or even ruined the unification process deeming the three Matsui powerless...

Screams of agony soon filled the room.

"Naruto, are you sure we're going the right way?" Sakura asked as they ran through the forest.

When the blonde didn't respond she looked behind her to see the Uzumaki a few yards away on his knees with his head down.

The pinkette quickly got concerned for her friend and rushed to his side. She was five feet away when Naruto ordered her to stay away from him.

"What's going on?" She asked him, worry clear in her tone.

Naruto shook his head.

"I don't know, my strength suddenly deteriorated all of a sudden... I'm not sure why, but I have this gut feeling that you need to get away from me." He said as his breathing began to get rigid.
