My Purpose

Chapter 31

After their afternoon buying clothes for Reina, the pair went back to Sasuke's house where Itachi and Obito were in the middle of making a celebration dinner for the three Matsui.

"You two are back earlier than expected." Voiced Itachi who was cleaning some vegetables.

"It was getting too cold." Explained Sasuke as he and Reina entered the kitchen after setting down the bags in a corner. 

"Well, we're hardly half way through."

"No one told you guys to make so many dishes in the first place." Sighed the youngest Uchiha making Obito's eye twitch.

"We asked Yami since he stopped by the house to pick up a few things and he listed all of the foods they enjoy which led to a whole list of things, Itachi and I had a hard time choosing what to- Hold on, since you're critiquing us for doing too much, why not tell us what you've been doing to celebrate your girlfriend coming to the village?" Challenged Obito earning an annoyed expression from Sasuke.

"That's none of your business."

"Oh!?" Laughed Obito. "Then the amount of dishes we make is also none of your business!"

"You're making a big deal out of nothing."

"Am I? Remember your teen years? Back when you made a big deal over absolutely everything?"

Sasuke was already rolling up his sleeve until Itachi spoke up.

"Can the both of you calm down? You'll make Reina uncomfortable."

Itachi already knew these two would butt heads after realizing Obito's real personality.

The two looked back at Reina to see her awkwardly sweat drop.

"It's ok, I see this everyday with Maya and Yami..."

"Yeah, but it's different seeing your own boyfriend acting so childishly. Must be a real disappointment seeing him this way-" Added Obito, which was a wrong move on his part.

Sasuke grabbed what was closest to him which was an onion and stuffed it in Obito's mouth with enough force to knock him down.

Now it was Itachi who sweat dropped.

Eventually things did deescalate.

Reina took her things to her room and then joined everyone else in preparing the food. Maya and Yami came towards the end, about 5 minutes apart from each other, but still in time to help with some things.

When all the dishes were done and placed on the table, the 6 of them sat at the table to begin eating, talking, and laughing at whatever was said.

This was the first carefree home cooked meal that Maya and Yami had, so it was special to the two of them.

They both greatly enjoyed every part of that night and would remember it always...

It's also the night that their first ever home was chosen. It was one that was relatively close to where the three Uchiha lived, but they only found that out when they looked at the address right after agreeing that it would be the one. It of course didn't change their decision.

The following day they told Kakashi about their decision and were told that they could move in as soon as all the right paper work was complete which only took a few hours.

When Reina was getting ready to pay, Kakashi told her that the house was already paid for, which reminded her of what she did a year ago concerning the remodeling of the hidden leaf.

The project was still ongoing, and the attack that happened a few days ago set them behind schedule, but she could still see some of the updates that were done since she was last here.
