The fight dragged on past the 2 hour line, meaning that more people unfortunately died, but thankfully not at the same rate as before. Everyone was going beyond their limits for this battle.
The goal was to not leave a single enemy alive to insure the definite end of the organization.
Before the fight could end, the three Matsui teleported everyone to a focused point in hopes that it would both speed up the process and decrease the mortality rate which it did. Groups that had more enemy to deal with now had more help by the other villages.
Approximately 5 hours after the sun came out, everything came to an end making everyone both happy and relieved. What added onto that happiness is the permanent reunion of their loved ones.
While that occurred. The Matsui gathered together and separated the crystals back to its original 9 parts, turning their hair and clothing back to normal with Reina's hair turning to a full solid color for the first time since her birth.
"You two have done great." Reina praised them. "I apologize for lying to you all these years."
Yami scoffed at her apology.
"Why apologize? You clearly did it because you knew that if you told us the truth, the plan wouldn't have worked. I'm personally content with ending that stupid organization once and for all. I detested being a part of it."
"Then why'd you stay?" Maya asked earning an annoyed look from Yami.
That expression alone brought an amused grin on Maya's face.
"You didn't wanna leave our precious Reina by herself did you?" Maya laughed. "Wow, two months into training you always said Reina was so arrogant for saving us and that you're only here to get strong and overthrow her as captain to show her you didn't need her help."
Reina could sense Yami's chakra spike signaling he was ready to attack Maya so she took a few steps between them.
"Calm down you two, remember that it's all behind us now. We can now choose what we want our lives to be like. No more Kogen to stand in between that." She said with a small smile.
"We Can have a normal sized home, without thousands of other people in it!" Cheered Maya.
"We get to have a normal life..." nodded Yami, glad that their nightmare of a life finally comes to an end.
Reina smiled sharing that same happiness.
"I am a bit sad that I won't be able to see the red head from the sand village. I heard the guy is Kazekage, can you believe someone that young was assigned such a title? I heard there was an age requirement for that!" Maya laughed.
"You know these villages, they have exceptions for everything. That's why their ranking system is so broken." Sighed Yami.
Maya was about to add onto that comment but the approach of a few people stopped her.
All three Matsui turn their attention to those that neared them.
"I get that we did some pretty bad things, but there's no way we'll allow any of you villages to take us as your prisoners. You'll die before we can go behind bars." Yami made sure to warn them.
He wasn't joking, Maya also seemed to refuse to be taken prisoner and while Reina didn't mind being in a cell, she certainly wouldn't allow Maya and Yami to be locked up again. That she would never accept.
The Mizukage chuckled at how fast Yami was to think that was their intention.
"Rest assured that we are not here to punish you."
