About half an hour passed when they decided to go to the balcony and sit on the bench that was

When they sat down, Reina agreed on opening up a little more about herself to him.

"I saw his smile and even heard his gentle voice as he disappeared. It made me think that perhaps he did inherit the memories of my father and only acted that he didn't."

"Why would he pretend something like that..?" Asked Sasuke.

"I don't know, perhaps to make sure I would put a stop to the organization? He was in the room when Kazue challenged me and upon hearing that he mentioned Yami and Maya being in the dungeon of the earth division. It was almost as if he knew that would make me want to take on the position as captain that became available because of him a day earlier. Then he resigned his position in the strategist department a few weeks later... It was weird that he and Kogen decided to choose me instead of Kazue, but now it makes sense."

"Even while being controlled, he found ways to not only make you stronger but also to give you more control..."

During their fight. Had Riku been fully controlled by Kogen, Riku wouldn't have cared if the benefits of the crystal continued for the other ninja. He would have fought against Reina for days on end until she died. However, he proposed the idea of not using chakra to accelerate the fight to Reina's advantage.

That was because without chakra, he would be able to touch Reina. That was the closest he could get to hugging his daughter without being suspected by Kogen, because if he found out Riku had more control than Kogen intended, he would have taken every bit of control he had thus killing Reina and possibly everyone else on that battle.

"Yeah... He did. I've always wondered what kind of person he was, and upon seeing his smile, I knew he was a very kind and warm person." She smiled as she wiped away a tear.

Sasuke continued to listen to her talk about everyone and everything. He knew this was something that she needed to let off her chest, and this was a good way to start.

Had he left after bringing her home, she would have continued to keep everything bottled up which would have led her to harm herself even more...

"Even though it was only for a moment, I could feel both his and my mothers arms wrap around me as I watched him slowly disappear..."

A parent's embrace... If she were asked to explain how it felt, she doubts she'd be able to come up with the proper words.

Sasuke actively listened to every word she spoke. He didn't allow a single detail to escape his head. No matter how late it got, he didn't get sleepy, it was as if his body refused to let her speak and not be listened to.

Fortunately, Maya and Yami were still out and about so she remained uninterrupted.

He noticed that her words began to slur Followed by her head gently falling on his shoulder. Tilting his head a bit, he saw that she had indeed fallen asleep.

A small smile made its way to his face as he carefully stood up and got her into his arms without waking her up.

He didn't know which room belonged to who, so he had to make a lucky guess based on which door he opened.

The first room definitely belonged to Yami while the second was undoubtedly Maya's. When at the celebration party, he came to know them a little more and they also mentioned that they went out and bought a lot of things. Reina on the other hand was busy visiting Shisui's grave during that time so her room was most likely empty.

He was right upon opening the last room. There was only a bed that was neatly made, a bedside table and a dresser.

Walking inside he set her on the bed and put a blanket over her.
