"Jiro! It's been a while old man!" Laughed Maya as the second class captain showed up to the hidden sand's battle location.
Right before he showed up about a hundred class one ninja showed up to the fight, a lot more of the water and the other half of the earth division showed up as well.
Jiro also laughed as he put the helm of his giant sword over his right shoulder.
"You little brats practically dragged us out here, not that I'm complaining."
"Is he one of the captains we heard about?" Questioned Garra from the short distance he stood from Maya.
She nodded cheekily simultaneously kicking herself off the sand under her when she felt it harden beneath her signaling an attack was coming.
She was proven correct when a level 2 earth ninja popped out of the now hardened ground. With her bow She shot an arrow at the ninja knowing they would move. That's when she used the perks of the crystals and teleported her arrow in the opposite direction the level 2 earth ninja was moving towards causing him to run right into her arrow.
With the crystals, there's no need for portals. They realized this fairly quickly. Unfortunately, they are unable to teleport anything that their chakra has not touched before or anything that those with the clan symbol on their wrists have yet to touch, it's the second reason why Reina decided to unlock both Naruto and Sasuke's second levels, not because of some reincarnation situation.
Naruto shared his chakra with many shinobi the day of the war, granting these individuals the same symbol on their wrists. Sasuke stabbed Karin with his Lightning Jutsu before granting her the same ability as well as anyone else who his chakra has had direct contact with. That is why Reina was able to teleport all these people away, but since both Sasuke and Naruto including herself, have not had their chakra in direct contact with Kogen before, she's unable to get him out of hiding.
"He's the captain of the water division, and the second strongest captain." She chuckled. "Fun fact, he and Kogen are the last surviving ninja of the Organization that attacked my clan. Everyone else died during that same attack almost two decades ago with the exception of the previous fire and earth division captains of course."
Garra could see that while Maya pretended like this was amusing, she was furious on the inside, and for someone like her, that was bad news for whoever her enemy was.
Taking his encounter with Reina and Maya, he began to wonder how things would have gone had Reina and her team been on the allied shinobi's side during the war. Would Obito have retreated?
"So that little brat did know after all." Voiced Jiro referring to Maya's second sentence.
"The crystals have memories, that were released to us when we unified them, so we know exactly who killed who that day. We quite literally watched it happen." Maya raised her non dominant hand and pointed at Jiro. "You, Kogen and the previous Fire and Earth Division Captains are the ones that broke the crystal that night right before the Matsui could kill you."
Jiro smiled sinisterly.
"What? Now you want revenge or something?"
Maya laughed at his comment and put her hand down.
"Revenge? No. What I want is a rematch. You can't truly say you defeated the Matsui when you just killed them after destroying the crystal deeming them powerless. Today you have the opportunity to kill a Matsui who is at full power. Only if you defeat me can you truly say you've defeated us." She told him with a smirk on her face.
"I could have killed them regardless."
"Go ahead and prove it."
