My Purpose

Chapter 29

Reina and Maya both dispatched clones to the smaller villages to both help look for trapped civilians as well as take care of falling meteors. They also sent clones to the greater villages to land a hand.

The originals remained inside the hidden leaf, it being the village with the most attacks seeing that the enemy sent personnel there to kidnap Hanabi, Hinata's younger sister.

It wasn't until two hours after Reina appeared in the village that news was received about the success of the mission. That was a relief to everyone, including the Raikage...

Now the focus was placed on finding all the trapped civilians. Being a sensory ninja, both Maya and Reina were able to pinpoint those that still had a chakra source regardless of how weak it was. Unfortunately, they would be unable to sense the body of someone who passed away.

"I totally missed this ninja thing." Chuckled Maya finally bumping into Reina for the first time tonight.

Reina nodded.

"At least we were able to see both sides." She agreed.

What comes with being a ninja isn't easy, but sometimes it pays off. The people they help, how it makes them feel knowing their power was used for something good. It's fulfilling.

"Yami and I didn't want to mention this to you before, but now that you and Sasuke are ok, can we think about settling down here?" Maya asked.

Reina could see how serious Maya was about her question. The young Matsui is rarely this serious about anything, taking just about everything as a joke.

She smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"You forget that I'm no longer your captain. You can do as you please Maya. If you two want to stay, then stay."

"Yeah but what about you..."

"Well, I also want to stay here."

That response brought a grin to Maya's face, glad that the three will continue to remain together. It's all Maya wants, her fear has been to be left alone. That's how she was in the dungeon, alone...

Both her and Yami had no idea they belonged to the same clan until Reina rescued them and told them everything she knew. The amount of patience she had with their difficult personalities was immense. She never gave up on them and did all she could to help them move forward in their lives.

Reina put her hand back to her side when she sensed Yami's chakra appear inside the village along with everyone else that went to outer space. Well, Naruto and Hinata were the only ones missing.

"I better fill Yami in before he finds Sasuke." Maya laughed, portaling away before Reina could do or say anything.

Reina shook her head as she went back to what she was doing.

Because everyone was working hard, they were able to finish fairly quickly.

News of the three Matsui being in the village also spread quickly. At first those that knew about Sasuke and Reina were concerned about how the two would be by this encounter, but were all surprised to hear that the two cleared things up and are now officially a couple.

Another surprise happened upon the arrival of Naruto and Hinata who also officially became a couple moments prior as well.

"What?! What the heck did I miss?!" Yelled Naruto, not knowing that Sasuke and Reina had a thing for each other all.

Needless to say, he never saw this coming...

"You must be the biggest idiot to not have noticed." Sighed Yami who came back from his talk with Sasuke a few minutes ago.
