Sasuke's eyes widened at what came out of Kazue's mouth.

"What did you just say..."

"That's right. They're having their very first and last bonding experience. However, Riku's only thought is to protect my father. That was his purpose from the very beginning, so he will undoubtedly kill his own daughter to protect the very person that killed him. Ironic isn't it?" She chuckled.

By now Kazue was close to death with the amount of injuries that Sasuke implemented. Had she been able to heal herself, she wouldn't be in this situation.

"You people are sick..."

"In our defense, we didn't know Reina even existed. Our real intent was for Riku to gather the crystals and unify them. Unfortunately, since the crystals could tell that he was not the original, he was only able to find four in the span of a decade, meaning we had no choice but to wait for either Maya or Yami to come of age and unify them. Then Reina came along and ruined that plan."

"I thought Danzo ordered you to attack the Matsui village, or did you know about the crystals even before that?"

"Danzo did ask us to attack the Matsui, and that's how my father discovered the power of the crystals and wanted the power that it offered. Throughout the fight it became clear that the power the Matsui had was immense. That Shisui guy must have realized this and made sure to keep her hidden from anyone and anything that could lead her to us."

Sasuke shook his head clearly in disbelief.

Reina knew. She knew from the very beginning. Had he opened the locket and looked inside, he would have also known about Riku being Reina's father. He would have seen Reina being held by her mother and Riku standing right beside them while smiling at the camera.

"She hid it so well. While there's still a possibility that she's unaware of this fact. I highly doubt it with her experience. She must have done research on every one of us and stomped upon the truth when she researched about Riku." Kazue said with a shrug.

His grip on his katana tightened as he realized the sort of fight Reina was having. That's when his katana began to glow purple and his chakra became visible to the naked eye.

"How dare you stand there and tell me this with a grin
plastered on your face. Just what the hell do you benefit from all of this..."

Kazue's amusement slightly faded with that question.

"What do I benefit? Her pain is my happiness. The more she suffers the happier I get and the more she loses, the more I gain."

She wasn't intimidated from the power Sasuke was releasing because at the end of the day, she already knew that she would die today. Sasuke has demonstrated that he is a powerful opponent.

Sasuke clearly didn't like The response he received.

Narrowing his eyes at her, he soon realized that she meant every word that came out her mouth.

"You people are the most rotten that I've ever met." He spat making her laugh.

"Of course you'd care this much. You purposefully ignored her during your first encounter knowing the chunin exams would be too risky for her safety. You even lie about it till this day, no clue as to why..."

Kazue was sent to infiltrate the chunin exams to gather information about all the villages attending the exams. Along the way she found Reina. At first she didn't see anything special in her until Reina used her power to save team 7 from Orochimaru.

"You two remind me of something my father said to me. The Matsui and Uchiha being good luck to one another when together, but having terrible luck when apart. Fortunately, good luck never lasts forever." She shrugged with false pity showing on her face. "The Matsui leaving the village caused both clans to become almost nonexistent."
