When the items were distributed between the two of them, they started walking to Sakura's house.
"Hey Sasuke, can I ask you something personal?"
"You know I don't like questions that involve me talking about my personal life." He reminded her to which she simply chuckled towards.
"Right, well, I'll ask anyway. What are your feelings towards Reina? Sincerely."
His eyebrows furrowed in confusion, not understanding why she would bring Reina into this all of a sudden.
"I don't know. What am I supposed to say? She's a friend?" He said slightly sarcastic.
The sincere confusion in his eyes is what made Sakura realize that Reina had her feelings more put together than Sasuke did. Her talk with Reina during the night celebration proves it.
"I know you don't want Reina to leave. None of us do, but unlike you, we fully accept it. You need to understand that your feelings for her are stronger than the ones you have for your friends."
"My feelings for her? Sakura are you ok? Yes, I care about Reina, but that's it. Don't assume that there's anything else going on between her and I."
Sakura smiled sadly as she sighed.
"Fine, let's say you don't have deeper feelings for Reina. That doesn't change that she does have them towards you." She chuckled as she recalled a memory. "I still remember the day I saw her in your recovery room during the chunin exams. I told her that I would win a place in your heart and she would lose, but what she said to me surprises me even now. She smiled at me and said that regardless of who you chose to be with, she would come out a winner, because at the end of the day your happiness was the real prize."
Reina has shown again and again that his feelings and well-being are very important to her. She did things that didn't directly benefit her, but they did to Sasuke...
"What also surprises me is how oblivious you've been. The both of you really. You not only randomly hold hands, but also stare at the other mesmerized by whatever The other is doing. It's so obvious to everyone else that the two of you like one another, the only ones in the unknown about the others feelings is the two of you."
Sasuke ended up scoffing, refusing to believe that it was true. Even if it was, he isn't in a spot in his life where a relationship would work out. He still has sins he needs to atone for...
"Listen Sakura. I care a lot about Reina, she's been a good friend, but that's all. There's no feelings standing in between-"
"Mind pulling out that envelope you hid earlier? I remember it being similar to the ones the old photography store uses."
"What? No. I didn't even buy one, the old guy just gave it to me. Reina is the one that wanted it." He defended himself.
Sakura hummed as she suppressed her laughter.
"It's ok to admit it Sasuke. It's difficult not to like someone like Reina. She's beautiful, kind, strong, smart, and she also sincerely cares a lot about you. Just think it over ok?"
Sasuke glanced at his former teammate in question.
"Why are you even doing this in the first place?"
"Well, I lost this race long ago. I'm simply admitting defeat."
Sasuke didn't know what to respond. He himself didn't know what he feels. That's something he has always put minimal attention towards. So much has been happening that feelings are the least important thing to focus on...
"If you truly don't like Reina, what Im asking of you isn't to force those feelings. I'm asking you to think about what you really feel about her. That's all, so promise me that you will."
