63. Training with Lava

(Grand Magic Zone: Ultime - Volcano Mountain Trail)

Everyone arrived at the scene, staring at the volcano blankly. They thought that they were going to the hot springs but no. All they saw was a volcano, spitting lava continuously and paths of lava.

"All right! Let's get moving, you idiots!"

Y/n's mind: Hahahaha.....Oh, sh*t.

"This is the Ultime - Volcano Mountain Trail, a fiery Grand Magic Zone. There is a large concentration of magic deep underground and it constantly ejects lava. Usually, no one will come near the place. At the top of the mountain, there is a magnificent hot spring." Mereoleona explained.

As Mereoleona was explaining about the volcano, Y/n noticed that most of the Crimson Lions were sweating a lot. She was sweating too but not that much because Yuno was cooling her off with his wind magic in secret. Y/n then saw a drop of her sweat fall and evaporate. She looked at Mereoleona who was looking at her closely with a smirk.

"So? Are you excited or what?" Mereoleona asked. "Get moving and start climbing!"

Asta's mind: As if we will get excited about it.

"What kind of hellish place is this?" Sol asked. "But the hot spring..." Sol then imagined washing the back of Captain Charlotte which motivated her.

"Sol, you don't have to come." Captain Charlotte said. "What are you talking about? Charlotte, I'll follow you wherever you go, even to the hot spring." Sol said with determination in her eyes. "Call me Captain."

"If that's the case, Asta, let's see who will race to the summit first!" Leopold exclaimed with his fist in the air. "Sure, challenge accepted, idiot! Bring it on!" Asta exclaimed.

"Join us, Yuno of the Golden Dawn." Leopold pointed at Yuno who was still surrounding Y/n with a bit of wind. "Whatever." Yuno said, not giving a f*ck. Leopold looked at him with amusement as Y/n just sighed at his nature.

Leopold's mind: Gah! Is this what being cool is like?

"I'm not good at this." Leopold said. "You will get used to it." Asta said.

"Stop dragging your feet! Get your asses moving!" Mereoleona exclaimed, kicking Asta's and Leopold's asses.

Everyone soon followed them, jumping from the cliff. They all landed on a big rock, surrounded by lava, feeling a big amount of heat around them.

Y/n's mind: It's too hot for me!

Leopold's mind: The magic in the atmosphere is going wild. My sweat glands are about to explode. I can't breathe! My chest is burning.

When everyone was trying to breathe, the people who stayed on the cliff were just observing. Y/n told Yuno to stop surrounding her with his wind because she had an idea. Yuno agreed and gave her some distance. Y/n then surrounded her body with mana, the way Asmodeus taught her.

Leopold's mind: And we have to climb up this erupting volcano in this condition? That's just impossible.

Y/n dashed directly, trying to go the top as instructed. She saluted to the people at the bottom and sped up again. Captain Yami and Captain Charlotte soon followed towards the top.

Mereoleona's mind: Oh, looks like one of the rookies knows about the technique.

Captain Yami's mind: Will Sisgoleon come after me if I try to duck out? Jeez, no turning back then.
