29. Black Market

Asta, Noelle and Y/n walked through the wall, "That was close." Asta said almost tripping himself. "There's a lot of weird things that we don't see everyday." Y/n said looking around with a mesmerized look. "This is the Black Market." Vanessa said. "Black Market?" Asta and Y/n asked. "This place is a little dangerous, but it has great magic tools that are super effective." Vanessa explained.

"Hey, Vanessa, I've brought in some good stuff." A seller said. "Awesome, show me later." Vanessa waved at him.

"This is so awesome!" Asta exclaimed. "It really is!" Y/n exclaimed looking around and going through each stall. "Don't get too far Y/n." Vanessa said. "Hai, Vanessa-senpai!"

Vanessa then walked towards Noelle, "What's wrong? You don't seem interested.". "No" Noelle said. "But it's no surprise, because the royals and nobles wouldn't come to places like this. But you still can't control your magic, right?"

"That's right, but how are these related?" Noelle asked nervously then looked away. "There might be a magic tool in the market that will help you control your magic." Noelle looked surprised then looked back at Vanessa. "As long as you can find the magic tool that suits you, you might be able to control it." Vanessa said. "Control my magic power?". "Let's try to find it, all right?" "Sure! Let me call Y/n." Noelle said.

"Y/n!" Noelle called her. Y/n looked at Noelle with a questionable look. Noelle gestured her to go over them so she walked towards them. "What's up?" Y/n asked. "Help us look for something okay?" Noelle asked. "Okay?" Y/n said unsure.

"Why is it so lively over there?" Asta asked. "It's still too soon for you to go there. If amateurs aren't careful in there, they might get screwed over." Vanessa said.

"All right! Here I come! I'll use my paycheck and increase it a hundredfold!" Magna appeared.

Asta's mind: I met someone I know!

Y/n's mind: Again? *hits her face*

Sekke was also in the Black Market, he was playing a card game with an old lady. "Damn it! I lost again haha!" Sekke exclaimed. The old lady laughed, "That's because I can see the future.". "Haha that old lady is really good. Anyway, it's not the time for this now. I should get back to work."

"They called it a job, but it's actually to catch the pickpockets. Is this something that the Magic Knights should do?" Sekke was walking in thought. "But the captain is so scary. I dare not to disobey him."

Sekke's mind: "Kiddo, do you have any objections?" His captain asked. "Beware, I'll cut you into two!"

"I finally made it into the Magic Knights but it feels so miserable. It's the Green Mantis. It's a mantis. A bug. I have to work my ass off every single day." Sekke kept complaining about his job as a Magic Knight until he stopped and looked at the side and saw Vanessa, Noelle and Y/n. "She's so cute!" Sekke exclaimed.(He meant Vanessa)

Vanessa pointed at a necklace, "How about this? It looks like it can be used to stabilize your magic power.". "Uhh...it looks awful." Noelle said. "Don't say that, try it on first." Vanessa gave Noelle the necklace then she put in on her. She created a water ball and aimed it on the ground but at the last minute, it changed direction and hit Sekke. "It's your fault for standing there." Noelle said looking away.

"Haha, I didn't expect to see you here! What's the matter? The Black Market doesn't seem like a place for pretty girls like you. Haha, are you lost? Allow me, the elite members of the Magic Knights, to lead you outside."

"No" Y/n said coldly glaring at Sekke.

Sekke's mind: Why does she look familiar? Plus that glare...

"Get lost, you flying insect." Noelle said then Vanessa yawned.

Sekke was out of words then Asta appeared, "Hey! I found an interesting item!" he exclaimed. "Don't tell me you're buying that!" Noelle exclaimed. "It can talk." Asta said with stars in his eyes. Noelle looked back at Y/n and Vanessa, "He bought it.". "Look!" Asta then pulled the string then it talked. "Asta, are you serious?" Y/n asked then she hit herself.

Sekke's mind: This little brat...

Asta looked at Sekke, "Wait...Aren't you Haha?" Asta asked. "I'm Sekke! Not Haha!" Sekke exclaimed.

Y/n's mind: Pffttt I wanna laugh so badly!

"Hey Y/n are you okay?" Noelle asked. "Yah...I...am...pffttt.." Y/n was trying to control herself.

"Haha, how have you been?" Asta asked. "I told you! I am Haha! No, I mean, Sekke!" Sekke exclaimed and Y/n started laughing. "Y/n...Are you really okay?" Vanessa asked. "HAHAHA, I just love that Asta called him Haha and not Sekke, plus..." Y/n suddenly turned cold, "He doesn't remember me..." Y/n glared at Sekke.

Noelle's mind: She really is scary sometimes..

"Who is he?" Noelle asked. "Someone I met at the entrance exam." Asta said. "Yup, me and Asta already met him at the entrance exam." Y/n smirked.

Sekke's mind: I remember her now.....I have to change myself, she looks more feminine already.

"I see, he's a member of the Green Mantis." Vanessa said.

Sekke's mind: Are these ladies with him? If so, these three must be members of the Black Bulls. Asta, you bastard. Despite being in the Black Bull, you're making me jealous. Come to think of it, it's all your fault that I ended up in the Green Mantis.....How infuriating.

"Sekke~" Y/n said a bit seductively which caught his attention and it made him blush. Y/n walked closer to him then went near to his ear, "Watch your back..." Y/n then walked away leaving Sekke flustered and scared.

Y/n's mind: It really is fun teasing...*giggles*

"You're out shopping with girls?" Sekke asked. "Well since today's our day off." Asta said. "Haha, you sure know how to have a good time. Even if it's your day off, instead of messing around, don't you think it's better to do some odd jobs and earn some point? I heard that the Black Bull have negative stars." Sekke said. "Stars!" Asta exclaimed. "Okay, listen here you son of a-" Vanessa pulled Y/n and shaking her head telling her no which Y/n understood and just kept her mouth shut.

"That's right! Listen to this! We got a star from the Magic Emperor on our first mission!" Asta exclaimed. "WAIT WHAT?! I DIDN'T KNOW!" Y/n exclaimed looking at Vanessa and Noelle. "Well...on your first mission, the Black Bulls received a star from the Magic Emperor because he was impressed by you guys." Vanessa said.

Y/n's mind: Does it mean he also knows about my...

"By the way Y/n." Noelle called. "You're telling us everything in detail, especially that pointy-ears and red mark of yours later." Y/n looked nervous but then she just nodded because they already saw her taken over my her own magic so she had no choice but to answer their questions.

Sekke's mind: What? You must be kidding me!

"Well, the three of them did a very good job." Vanessa said.

Sekke's mind: They're serious? No, I should calm down. *breathes in and breathes out*

"I-I see! Seems like you're working hard." Sekke said nervously. "What about you, Haha?" Asta asked. "It's Sekke!"

"Just the other day, I got my second star...No, potato..." Sekke said disappointed.

"Thief! My winning prize! Stop right there!" An old lady shouted.

Noelle, Asta, Vanessa, Sekke and Y/n heard it. Asta and Y/n started running towards the old lady whose money was stolen.

Asta and Y/n ran passing by the old lady, following the thief. "It's that old lady." Sekke said.
