19. What Magic Knights Actually Do

(Next day)

Asta was screaming and running around the Black Bulls base, he was doing most of the chores for the members. Y/n couldn't bear to live like this every morning listening to Asta's yelling, so she had to follow his screaming so that she would have a "talk" with him.

"Hey Asta.." Y/n looked cranky. "Y-yes?" "KEEP YOUR VOICE DOWN!" Y/n exclaimed pulling his ear. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Y/n, please stop, it hurts!" Asta exclaimed. "You know you could've asked me for help Asta." Y/n looked away. "This is my job Y/n, just go back inside, you have your own work too." He said gesturing her to shoo.

Y/n's mind: Does being members of a Magic Knights Squad, have to deal with...unreasonable demands?

(Cafeteria)

All of the members were eating silently then Asta started, "Noelle, why do you never help me with the cleaning?" "Cleaning? I'm royalty, you know." She said. "But you're still a newbie just like me and Y/n!" "Why not let her help you!" She exclaimed. "She has her own work and I don't want to disturb her!" He exclaimed, then they both started arguing.

Y/n's mind: I think it's the best not to interfere with their chit chat...

Asta stopped then looked at Magna, "Magna-senpai, what are the Magic Knights supposed to do anyway?" Magna stood up looking upset, grabbed the robe of Asta, "We protect the kingdom and handle security! It's the manliest job in the world, you idiot!" Magna exclaimed. "Why did you join the squad when you knew nothing about it?" "I-I'm sorry Magna-senpai!"

"They are so energetic early in the morning." Finral said. "Tell him what Magic Knights really do you drunken witch over there." Magna called out Vanessa. "Well...I think our job is to keep the citizens safe or something like that. *drinks a glass of wine* Being a bodyguard might even give you a chance to get close to some wonderful guys."

"I see..." Asta said then Luck walked up to him, "It's an interesting job where you can fight enemies. If they're criminals, you can beat them as much as you want without being scolded." Luck said punching the air and Asta was chuckling nervously because Luck LOVES fighting.

"Most importantly, this wonderful job will earn you your sister's respect. What do you think? Isn't she an angel? I can even buy her things that she likes with my wage." Gauche showed him a picture of his sister and had a nosebleed...again. "But if you lay a finger on Marie, I'll kill you." He suddenly changed and Noelle and Asta were terrified.

Y/n's mind: As expected of a brother who has a sister complex...*sighs*

"W-what about you Finral-senpai?" Asta asked looking away from Gauche. "It's the best job where I can constantly save girls and become popular among them." Finral winked at them and Noelle, Asta and Y/n felt uneasy...

The rookies were looking at Gordon but they couldn't hear his mumbling so they sighed. Charmy suddenly screamed, "Charmy-senpai?" Y/n looked at her confused. "There's....no more food!" She exclaimed. Y/n hit her face on the table while Noelle and Asta just had a look on their face that speaks "Are you serious?"

"I'm only eighty percent full." Charmy opened her grimoire and said, "Cotton Creation Magic Sheep Cooks". A bunch of sheep cooks suddenly appeared and started cooking more food which surprised the rookies. "Itadakimasu!" Charmy exclaimed. "As long as you're in Magic Knights' squad, you can eat plenty of food!" Charmy started chumping down everything.

Grey suddenly appeared behind Noelle and Asta, then he transformed himself into Asta. "EHHHH!" Asta exclaimed. "Anyway, it's a good job." Grey said. "He looks exactly like you." Noelle said and Y/n nodded in agreement. "I'm looking forward to working with you on a mission in the future." Grey said placing his hand on Asta's shoulder, "Right..." Asta said. Grey then transformed back to his original form.

"They're all weirdos." Asta said. "Yup, I agree with you." Y/n said. Y/n noticed Noelle's look on her face.

Noelle's mind: Is it really okay for me to stay in this squad?"

"Noelle" Y/n called Noelle and she looked at her. "Don't worry!" Y/n exclaimed with a smile at the end. Noelle just nodded then smile at her. Charmy then was trying to make Asta eat but he was full, then Magna appeared asking him if he understood what Magic Knights actually do, and Y/n just sighed.

Y/n's mind: Looks like I won't have a boring life huh?

Captain Yami broke down the door and all of the members were looking at him curious. "Let's go, Magna." He said. "Hai Yami-san!"

"What's going on?" Asta asked Magna with food in his mouth. "We've got a mission." Magna then walked towards Captain Yami. "A Magic Knights' mission? I'm coming with-" "No!" Magna stopped in his tracks. "We can't bring any kids along. This is an important mission for mature adults. Well then, I'll be right back." Magna waved and continued to walk towards Captain Yami.

Y/n's mind: Why do I have a feeling that it's actually NOT a Magic Knights' mission? Oh I forgot, I heard a bit of their conversation earlier...

Noelle noticed the look on Y/n's face then started, "Hey Y/n, are you okay?" she looked curious. "Yah I am, I just feel something is not right with their mission." Y/n said looking at Magna and Captain Yami.

"Hey let's go, Y/n is scary when it comes to her senses." Captain Yami whispered to Magna and he nodded in agreement. "You guys! Don't break anything, okay?" Captain Yami shouted. "Okay! Have a safe trip!" Vanessa exclaimed. "Captain! Will you fight me when you come back?" Luck asked. Gordon mumbled something but still, it couldn't be heard but what he actually said was, "Come back early, I'll be waiting." "Make sure to be back before dinner!" Charmy exclaimed. "Can I go see Marie soon?" Gauche asked having another nosebleed. "Maybe I'll go flirt with...*shakes head* I mean, go on a mission too." Finral said winking at Noelle then she just looked away.

Y/n's mind: We know what KIND of mission Finral-senpai....

Noelle's mind: We know what KIND of mission Finral-senpai....

Y/n and Noelle looked at each other and giggled leaving Asta confused.

Captain Yami and Magna left.

Asta's mind: Captain Yami and Magna both looked serious. I wonder what kind of mission it is.

(Meanwhile with Captain Yami and Magna)

Magna's mind: This is bad...It's really something...This is really bad!

"And now you're both finished." A random man said. Captain Yami, Magna and the random man showed their cards on the table. "High Card" Magna said. The random man laughed and I forgot to say this but...Captain Yami and Magna lost their clothes because of...gambling...

"He got us!" Magna exclaimed. Magna and Captain Yami both stood up from their seats and took off their.....undergarments.....and gave it to the man who won. "HAHAHAHA This feels so great!" He said. "Damn it!" Magna exclaimed. "That's six months' worth of wages." Magna said.

"You've still got a long way to go, Magna. You too, Captain Yami! I'm very delighted!" The man exclaimed. "Now I can buy some good stuff for everyone back in the village." He said.

Captain Yami sat back down and asked for another round. "Yami-san?" Magna looked at Captain Yami. "Oya? I don't think you have anything else to bet though. You don't have any clothes or money." The man said. "He's right Yami-san, we're totally cleaned out!" Magna exclaimed. "No, I've got still got more. Hey, old man, let's do one last round. If we win, we get everything back. " Yami said. "Okay, and if you lose?" He asked. "I'll give you this!" Captain Yami showed him a book. "Yami-san, that's...." "Let's do another round with this!" He exclaimed. "No, that's not supposed to be used as a bet, is it?" The man shook his head. "He's right Yami-san!" Magna exclaimed. Captain Yami told Magna to shut up and that it was the right time to go beyond the limits. (Of course *sighs*)

"Still, you shouldn't be betting that, *thinks* all right. If you lose, how about you do anything I ask?" The man said. "Anything?" Captain Yami asked. "What do you mean by anything?" Magna asked. "There's no way Yami-san would accept-" "Okay" Captain Yami cut Magna off. "Let's do this, Mr. Seihi!"

The man named, Seihi played another round with Captain Yami and Magna but they still....lost. *sighs*
