12. One of Us #1

All of the members went out of the hideout to watch the match.

"If you guys, buffoons from Hage, want this robe, you must pass this trial." Magna said. "I understand!" Asta exclaimed. "Hai Magna-senpai."*yawns* Y/n was exhausted, she didn't want to do this trial but she had to in order to be actually known as one of the Black Bulls. "Here we go again with this nonexistent ceremony." Vanessa said. "I want to try it too." Luck said smiling. "Okay so who's first?" "Asta!" Y/n exclaimed. "EHHHHHHH??" Asta was surprised. "Why me?" Asta asked Y/n. "I have faith in you??" Y/n said unsure. "HAIIII!" "First let me see your determination and stamina." Magna said to Asta. "HAII MAGNA-SENPAI!" Asta exclaimed.

"Five thousand sit-ups!"

"HAI!"

"Five thousand push-ups!"

"URRGGHH!"

Asta then carries a big rock.

Then he tries to break the rock by using his head.

"IT HURTS!!! I AM NOT DONE!!"

He hits the rock again with his head and it created a big crack.

"IT REALLY HURTS!"

"This kid is not bad." Vanessa said. But it is all meaningless because in this world, magical prowess is everything but he has a lot of energy." Luck said. "How is it?" Asta asked Magna. "It seems that you do have determination." Magna said.

Y/n's mind: I'm so happy that I didn't go first*sighs in relief*

"Do you approve of me?" Asta asked. "Please give me the robe!" "Dream On!" Magna said. "It's not going to be easy you buffoon! There is still another trial which is the final." He said.

Asta's mind: The final?

"Whatever magic you use, whichever is fine, as long as you can block or dodge my attack, as long you can do that, without a doubt....you are one of us and I will give you this robe." Magna said with a fireball on his palm.

Asta's mind: I really want it.

"I understand. I'll do my best!" Asta exclaimed. "Shut up!" Magna exclaimed.

"Uhh Finral-senpai? Why are you opening your grimoire?" Y/n asked. "Just in case things go bad, it's always like this so don't worry Y/n." Finral smiled at Y/n, she nodded and acted as if she wasn't worried but she actually was.

"Shortie, prepare your grimoire!"

"HAIIIIII!!"

Asta opened his grimoire and pulled out his sword. "Oh, what is that?" Luck asked. "It's huge." Vanessa said. All of the members were now paying attention to Magna and Asta's match. Magna then pulled out a baseball bat made of fire out of his grimoire.

"Are you ready?"

"YOSH!"

"Here I go!"

"I welcome you!"

Magna kept sending fireballs to Asta and Asta was able to dodge them all. "Heh, he's got skills." Magna said. "Hai!" Asta exclaimed.

Asta's mind: I can pass!

"But now....Is the real deal!" Magna exclaimed.

"Fire Magic....Exploding Fireball!" Magna then threw it to Asta. "What is this?!" Asta exclaimed.

Asta's mind: No way.

Asta's brain knew instinctively. Asta has always depended upon his well-trained muscles, kinetic vision and explosive power to slice through magic and defeat his opponents, but the magic Magna used this time round, is too fast for Asta to process.

Asta's mind: He's too fast!

Even if he could slice through, the power of the attack will not dissipate completely, he will still be overwhelmed.

Asta's mind: There is no way to block it!

Y/n's mind: Asta is not looking too good...

The brain stops working when it reaches its limit. However, he still carries hope! The muscle memory from his training comes back to him. That one final struggle, it is the determination that carved out a path for him.

Asta was gripping his huge sword then used it to deflect Magna's exploding fireball and send it back to Magna which surprised him. "He hit it!" Luck exclaimed. "Amazing!" Vanessa exclaimed. "It's been so long since we've met a new member that does not need to be saved." Finral said.

Captain Yami's mind: He was not able to cut it, but he hit it? His sword can slice through magic and block it. How interesting....

"I had no idea!" Asta exclaimed and Y/n hit her face. "Y/n, do you know anything about Asta's sword?" Finral asked. "All I know is that it nullifies magic." Y/n said. "N-NULLIFY MAGIC?! Finral exclaimed. He was in shock that something like that would actually exist in this world. Oh all of the members heard Finral, they were in shock too, knowing that kind of power actually exists in the Clover Kingdom.

Asta's mind: I knew I could slice through magic but...I can hit it too? This sword is great! I almost lost my life just now! That was close..

Y/n's mind: Don't tell me you actually did that not knowing that it can.....*sighs*that brat....STOP RISKING YOUR FREAKING LIFE YOU.....

Asta's mind: What was he thinking? To murder a new member? Is he dead? And why do I feel Y/n's murderous aura again....

"Damn it." Magna said. "EHHH!" Asta exclaimed.

Asta's mind: He took a full blow of my attack! And he's still alive?!

"Luckily I was able to counteract in time, but...I was almost killed by my own magic!" Magna exclaimed and Asta looked terrified. "You...." Magna walked towards Asta.

Asta's mind: Kowai! Kowai! Kowai! Kowai! Kowai!

"You are good!" Magna exclaimed. "Not only did you block my magic, but you sent it back to me. I like you, Dwarfsta" Magna kept hitting Asta's back. "My name is Asta, Magna-senpai!" Asta exclaimed. "Sorry for looking down on you for being a powerless country bumpkin, come to think of it, I'm from a village too" Magna said. 'Okay...Y/n you're next." Magna grinned at her then she nodded in approval. "Ganbatte Y/n!" Asta exclaimed. "Goodluck Y/n, please give him a good beating." Finral said. Y/n nodded and went to the center.

Captain Yami's mind: Don't underestimate her Magna..

Asta's mind: Hehehe I can't wait to see Y/n in action again...

Y/n's mind: I hope my magic won't take over me again..*sighs*

"Are you ready?" Magna asked standing up proudly. "Hai Magna-senpai!" Y/n exclaimed.

Magna's mind: Lets see if this chick is weak or strong....
