38. Another Mission

"Yami-san!" Magna exclaimed. "Captain!" Asta exclaimed. "Hi everyone, We are back!" Finral exclaimed.

"Welcome back!" Charmy exclaimed.

"What did they want at the castle?" Vanessa asked. "If there's a mission, I want to participate with everyone." Gordon mumbled.

"Mission? Is it a mission?" Luck asked punching the air.

"I have something to announce. A new dungeon has been discovered." Captain Yami said.

"Ohhh" Everyone said.

"Dungeon? Yami, is this true?" Magna shouted. "Ohhhh! What's a dungeon?" Asta shouted.

"What?" Everyone was in shock. "Yup, I also don't know." Y/n admitted. "WHAT?!"

"Are you guys for real?" Magna shouted. "Why are you so excited if you don't know?"

"I just went with the flow." Asta said. "I didn't say anything." Y/n looked away. "Don't kid yourself!" Magna exclaimed.

"Listen, a dungeon is a mausoleum where the ancient people were buried. They usually contain immensely powerful magic or precious magical relics. It's amazing!" Magna exclaimed.

"However, in order to prevent misuse by people, the ancient people cast powerful magical traps. These mausoleums are dangerous but interesting!" Luck added. "The mission is dangerous so Magic Knights are usually sent to investigate and to protect the relics and prevent them from getting stolen." Vanessa said. "Okay." Asta said. "H-hai." Y/n said.

"I see. So does this mean they want the Black Bulls to investigate the newly-discovered dungeon?" Noelle asked. "Particularly because this dungeon is near the border we share with our enemy." Captain Yami said.

"Enemy?" Asta shouted. "The Diamond Kingdom." Captain Yami said. "D-diamond Kingdom?" Y/n stuttered. "Hey, Y/n, you know something about that kingdom?" Magna asked. "I actually know nothing about the Diamond Kingdom but it somehow makes me shiver just by hearing the name." Y/n said.

"We are to carry out this mission quickly and efficiently to prevent the Diamond Kingdom from stealing any goods. People who have gone to the dungeons have discovered relics powerful enough to change the face of civilization. There were also people who learned the most powerful magic because of the dungeons-"

"I volunteer for this mission! Perhaps I could learn those powerful magic as well!" Asta cut Captain Yami's explanation. Y/n hits Asta's head, "Let him finish." she said.

"Impossible, you have no magical power." Captain Yami said. "How would I know if I don't try?" Asta kept shouting and raising his left hand. "Fine, you can go. Or rather, the Magic Emperor has designated you." Captain Yami said. "What?" Asta asked in shock.

Y/n was walking towards her room slowly, "Hold up, you chick, the Magic Emperor also chose you to go on this mission." Captain Yami said. "What?!" Y/n exclaimed.

"The Magic Emperor! Why?" Asta shouted. "What did I even do to deserve his recognition?!" Y/n shouted. "You guys did it!" Magna exclaimed. "How did you guys get to know the Magic Emperor?" he asked. "I have no recollection!" Asta and Y/n exclaimed together.

"The Magic Emperor designated me." Asta said crying with stars in his eyes. "Although baffling, thank you Magic Emperor! The talentless Asta will serve this mission with his heart and soul!" he exclaimed.

"Why aren't you happy that the Magic Emperor chose you, Y/n?" Vanessa asked. "I don't know, I mean to be recognized by him is unbelievable, I don't know what to feel." Y/n said. "HAHAHA That's okay! You're just too surprised!" Magna exclaimed.

"Noelle will join this mission too." Captain Yami added. "Eh?" Noelle was in shock. "It's good to experience everything, and Luck, you will be their team leader. I put them in your good hands." Captain Yami said.

"Really?" Luck asked. "Yes. You have been staying at the base, your body must be stiff." Captain Yami said. "Great!" Luck exclaimed.

"Listen, you must look after the new members." Captain Yami said. "Leave it to me." Luck smiled. "No, I feel like we won't be okay in the dungeon at all." Y/n said then Noelle nodded in agreement.

Finral then casted a portal.

"Be careful." Vanessa said. "Asta, Y/n, Noelle, be careful!" Magna exclaimed. "All right!" Asta exclaimed. "We have no choice." Noelle said. "I have a bad feeling about this..." Y/n said walking backwards slowly then was stopped by Captain Yami, "Don't chicken out, the Magic Emperor chose you so go." Captain Yami said.

Y/n's mind: So I can't abort this mission? *sighs*

"Hmm...Let me ride along." Finral said. "I want to visit my little sister, can I?" Gauche asked. Captain Yami looked at Gauche with a terrifying look, "Yes, if you don't want to live anymore.". Gauche was scared then the picture of his little sister that he was holding fell onto the ground and Finral sweat dropped.

Luck, Asta, Y/n and Noelle walked through the portal and arrived in an unknown place. Finral and Charmy appeared through the portal, "The sunset here is beautiful. I recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to bring a date." Finral said then walked back in the portal. "I will have the desserts ready by the time you are back!" Charmy exclaimed then walked back in following Finral. "That's all, the rest is up to you guys." Captain Yami said from the other side of the portal.

"Yes!" Asta exclaimed. "Okay!" Luck exclaimed.

"Let's go, this way." Luck said.

(While looking for the dungeon)

"Why didn't they send us straight to the dungeon door?" Noelle asked. Luck giggled, "Because Finral can only send us to places he has been to before." he explained.

"Woah, but luckily, we are pretty near to the dungeon." Luck said standing up on a fallen tree then Asta, Noelle and Y/n followed.

(At the entrance of the dungeon)

Asta, Y/n and Noelle gulped.

"Let's go!" Luck exclaimed. "What? Why are you here?" Asta noticed Nero back on his head. "Duhh, he likes you." Y/n said. "All he does is peck me on the head! He is an annoying bird!" Asta exclaimed then Nero started pecking on his head. "Stop that! It hurts!" Asta exclaimed.

"See, he likes you." Y/n giggled. "It's not funny, Y/n..." Asta pouted. "Aww, what a big baby." Y/n grinned. "Who you calling a big baby huh?!" Asta shouted.

(Black Bulls base)

"How does the Magic Emperor know Asta and Y/n?" Magna asked Captain Yami. "Because the Magic Emperor sees things differently from us. Another weirdo..." Captain Yami started laughing.
