Karax squinted at the northern horizon, trying to make out the shape. The remnants of the storm were strongest there, shadowing the land. Something was there and it worried him. what was it?

A moving shape, dark and enormous. He made out a flag pole, but not the flag itself. An army.

It made no sense. The Rebels and whatever forces Yfdar was bringing should come from the west. Besides, it was too soon for that.

,,Aurora?" he sent the mental question.

,,Yes?" her answer came immidiately.

,,Did you order your father to attack?" he asked.

,,What? No!" there was a hint of worry in her voice.

,,There is an army up north. Should I go investigate then?"

,,Go, but be careful."

He nodded and then realized she couldn't see him. But the connection closed already. Fine then.

He shifted and jumped from the city wall, causing a panicked stirr in the humans.

Many enemy dragons tried to attack, but he lost them in the storm. For a dragon his size, the winds didn't make much difference. The clouds provided cover. Drops of water clung to his scales.

The plain stretched far ahead, growing into small hills in the distance.

And there, the army marched. Soldiers in black furry uniforms. Thousands of them. And siege engines.

Karax didn't need to see the flag with its gray bear on black background to know who they were. Haynor.

He spotted their king at the front. Bulky tall man sitting on a giant white bear, with a coat made of dragonskin and a mask covering his face.

A horn bellowed. He was spotted.

Too late to turn back. The siege engine fired flaming boulder at him.

He shot at it and the boulder exploded into hundred pieces, falling back at the army.

Men screamed, crushed beneath the rocks.

Karax disappeared in the clouds before another of those catapults aimed.

,,Haynor!" he yelled at Aurora the moment he got close enough.

,,That frozen bastard! He will pay for this! How many?"

,,Around fifteen thousand."

She cursed.

People scattered away, frantically trying to get away from where he landed.

He shifted and marched into the first tent. Humans. Out of them all, it had to be humans.

Some guards tried to bar his way with spears. He gripped the spears and spun them the other way.

The first person he ran into had to be the general.

,,What do you think you are doing here?!" the man demanded.

Karax ignored him. ,,Haynor army coming from the north. New orders! Every messenger here will carry this out immidiately!-"

,,You have no right to give orders here!" the king cut in.

Karax glared at him. ,,Listen, you fools! You can do as I say or you can die!"

Everyone in the tent gaped.

,,Now! Every mage is to team up and create a shield around the walls! The dragons are to attack the siege weapons! Rejoin the cavalry and get them ready to face bears. Move the archers up on the walls." He briefly glanced at the map. ,,The eastern wing moves to the center!"
