I woke up early Sunday morning with a rather heavy feeling. My temples are throbbing, and instead of getting up, I contented myself with staring at the faded ceiling.
I really wanted to tell my friends about my predicament, but I know that if I breathed a word about it to Jayden, he would suggest to tell it to my dad. Which is the last thing I want to do. What if it reaches Mom? Then I'm sure she'd have me return and live with her.
I rolled in between my bedsheets and buried my face on the pillow. What should I do to resolve this problem? If I continue being Kookie Alistair's assistant, I will always be with him. And I can't stay with someone who's doing music.
But what will I tell Mr. Ysidro? Would he agree if I pay the fee in installments? How much would it be? If it costs more than a hundred thousand, then I might as well sell my blood.
But I'm afraid of needles!
"Argh!" I groaned and hit the pillows. Just then, I heard some knocks and the door opened. I got up, and saw a girl entered. She's carrying a luggage bag and a pot of cactus.
She smiled at me, "Hi! I'm Yerin Javier, a first year fashion design student. I was down on the 6th floor but a problem happened with the bathroom there so the supervisor told me to change rooms."
I nodded. "Hello, I'm Seanne."
She went to the opposite bed, and put down her cactus plant on the table. Then she began opening her luggage and fixing her things. She moved very femininely, with her long straight hair falling down her shoulders everytime she moves.
Good thing it is not allowed to have loud music inside the dorms, I would not worry if my roommate likes music. I sighed and began fixing my bed.
My phone buzzed. My heart skipped a beat. I haven't thought of what to say to Mr. Ysidro yet.
I felt relief when I saw Jayden's photo on my screen. "Jayden! What's up?"
"Dad wanted to treat us to lunch, let's go together later," he said, he sounds like he's running.
"Okay. Will Dad be there?" I took my towel and clothes.
"I don't know, maybe. So see you later."
"See you."
I have just hung up when another call came. I almost dropped my phone when I read Mr. Ysidro's name. I felt like my stomach fell.
"H-Hello, Sir?"
"Hiiiii, Seanne! Kookie told me what happened yesterday," he said in a high-pitched voice, "I think we should talk about it. You can't just quit like that..."
I sighed, "I'm really sorry sir. But I don't---"
"Let's talk about it in person okay? Meet me at Polkafe at 11:30 today," he said. "I'll hung up. The doctor wanted to talk to me. Byee!"
